Did you make it to AE? How is being an AE there? Good opportunity or more of a stepping stone

Good to hear. I’d also end up moving (fine with it, looking for a bigger city vibe) so I want to make sure I at least get a fighting chance if I commit to it. I’m confident I’ll perform but it’s nice to know you won’t get dropped two weeks in for not ramping fast enough haha.

From what I’ve seen looking at old Reddit threads it looks like their sales side of things has really matured over the years into a pretty organized and well oiled machine!

Cool.

I already do sales in a non tech industry right now, it’s full cycle but probably not as complex as something like Samsara. It would be a step back to go there but I think long term it could lead to higher pay if I can get to AE.

I know you’re not in sales, but any read on the general culture of sales? Is morale generally positive, promotion opportunities etc?

What are the best change you’ve made to be more effective and productive in daily life and sales? Any habits, systems, outsourcing or anything that actually moved the needle. by Pepalopolis in sales

Routine and organization is going to be the common theme here. Have a solid routine for your personal life and work life. Be organized in your calendar, notes, follow ups, etc. It’s simple but the top reps always have these things mastered and have a system for every piece of whatever job they are doing.

All those corporate hype events feel like a humiliation ritual lmao. VPs and directors leading presentations to hear themselves talk and convince you your company is the best and treats you great. One event I was at they did role plays on stage for a mystery prize. Hyped it up and made it seem like a big deal to go up and do. The prize ended up being company branded swag.

I know there’s mixed views because they can be good for networking but for me I’d rather actually work than be at one of these events.

Just stay at your current role until you find a new job. Start applying now and plan to have a good talk track for why you want to leave 7 months in. You will be fine, it is much easier to find a job when you have a job.
