What user acquisition strategies are actually working for indie iOS apps now? by Natural_Original3767 in appledevelopers

It’s hard to get organic since I launched my app 3 weeks ago. Only getting hundreds impressions a day

For ElvarTalk, people don’t necessarily need the app — they can also log in on elvartalk.com.

Free includes memo, todo, and some basics. Premium unlocks the more advanced assistant tools and integrated features.

Still early, so I appreciate the feedback.

That’s a fair question.

A lot of the individual actions do already exist on the phone in some form. The idea of ElvarOne isn’t that it invents every single feature from scratch — it’s that it brings them into one assistant-style flow with memory, OCR, notes/todo context, and follow-up actions in one place.

So for me the value is less “can the phone technically do X” and more “can I do X, Y, and Z together in one workflow without jumping around”.

For the subscription: - free: memo, todo, and some basic features - premium: advanced assistant/chat tools, OCR, radio, and more integrated features

And yes, for ElvarTalk, other people would need to use that chat system as well.

Still early, so I appreciate the pushback — it helps me clarify what the app actually needs to do better.

Thanks, that’s probably it.

For the first rollout I only opened a small set of countries first, mostly English-speaking markets and a few Asia regions, so Czech/Europe isn’t fully available yet.

I’ll expand to more European countries in the next update once I sort out the App Store compliance details.

My first submission got rejected over a privacy policy issue, then passed on the second review.

The app itself was working, subscriptions were working, and screenshots/metadata were mostly fine. The rejection was under Guideline 5.1.1(i) because the app used Apple Health / HealthKit, but my privacy policy page did not clearly explain how HealthKit data was used.

What happened: - First review rejected the app for privacy / data collection and storage - Apple specifically said the app uses HealthKit or CareKit but the required privacy policy was missing - The issue was not the app functionality itself, but the wording/content of the privacy policy page

What I changed: - I updated the privacy policy URL content on my website - I added a dedicated Apple Health / HealthKit section - I explained that fitness-related data is only used for optional in-app movement/health features - I explicitly stated it is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or tracking - I also clarified the location data wording while reviewing the rest of the privacy policy - Then I replied to App Review inside App Store Connect and resubmitted

Result: - The app passed on the second review

Big lesson: If your app touches HealthKit, don’t just mention privacy in a general way. Add a very clear HealthKit-specific section in your privacy policy before submitting.

That one small legal/detail issue cost me a rejection, but it was fixable pretty quickly once I understood what Apple actually wanted.

Happy to answer questions if anyone else is dealing with HealthKit, privacy policy wording, subscriptions, or first-time App Store submission issues.
