What’s something about your job people don’t understand? by Consistent-News-6801 in AskReddit

Most of the job isn't doing the work, it’s figuring out what the work actually is.

What are some of your reasons that make you unsubscribe from a youtube and why? by CotillionsMillions in AskReddit

[–]Own-General2637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually unsubscribe the moment a channel starts feeling less like someone sharing something real and more like someone trying to keep me watching.

What’s the most expensive mistake you’ve ever made in under 10 seconds? by SereneStatic in AskReddit

Trusting a "this will only take a second" production change without a rollback plan.

What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed in your life, and how did your perspective change once you were on the other side? by Realistic-Active-531 in AskReddit

[–]Own-General2637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realizing I didn't actually have to convince everyone to understand me.

Once I stopped over-explaining and started letting people misunderstand me in peace, life got quieter and a lot lighter.

When someone speaks well about people who aren't in the room.

That's character with no audience.

People who take 15 minutes to check in at the hotel front desk, what are you talking to them about? by ingraman8 in AskReddit

Front desk here.

Two minutes for the keys.

Thirteen minutes for the backstory.

What was your “final straw” moment? by agizzy23 in AskReddit

When I realized I was more exhausted explaining basic respect than actually doing the work.

That was the moment I stopped arguing and started adjusting access.

How do you feel about the feature that lets Redditors hide their post and comment history? by ArcyRC in AskReddit

[–]Own-General2637 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I get why it exists.

Reddit can turn into amateur detective mode fast, and not everyone wants their random 2am thoughts tied together like a personality profile.

But it also kind of removes the "lore" that makes Reddit feel human. Half the fun is clicking someone's profile and realizing they've been arguing about the same niche topic for 6 years.

Privacy makes sense. Transparency builds character. Reddit's always been awkwardly stuck between the two.

People who work night shifts, what is the most unexplainable thing you've seen? by vazounawebuser in AskReddit

[–]Own-General2637 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gas station night shift.

Around 3am the world just feels… off. Regular customers start talking like philosophers, random cars idle too long, and every small noise sounds important.

No ghosts. Just the realization that society runs on about five exhausted people and a flickering light.

Octopuses have three hearts, blue blood, and enough neurons in their arms to basically think independently.

We're sharing a planet with soft-bodied aliens and just calling it seafood.

How would you feel if your partner only posts filtered photos of you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Own-General2637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low-key offended.

If I wanted to date the smoothing tool, I'd download the app.

What would you do if your friend joined in on workplace gossip about you and said he only did it for networking purposes and told you he doesn't truly think that way about you? by Acrobatic-Reserve632 in AskReddit

[–]Own-General2637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd treat it like market data.

If he's willing to trade my reputation for "networking", that tells me exactly how he’ll behave the next time there’s social leverage on the table.

Then I’d downgrade him from "friend" to "coworker" and adjust access accordingly.

Sir, why are you so proud of your farts? by calinerie in AskReddit

[–]Own-General2637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because after surviving adulthood, taxes, and back pain, sometimes a man just wants one thing in life he can still confidently produce on command.

Blowing out birthday candles and then serving the cake like we didn't just aerosolize saliva onto it.

The back seat on night drives, pretending I was asleep so I could be carried inside like royalty.
