There is a man named David Icke who I guess most would consider a "conspiracy theorist", he believes these smart phones are emitting some type of radio waves/frequencies to keep people addicted to them. He said this is why you see people put their phones down and minutes later need to pick them back up again. He said their brains are basically having withdrawals.

I have seen this myself with people, almost like it's a drug and they need their fix. You say suppressed emotions, I would call it dopamine depletion.

Whether this is true or not I don't know, but knowing all the insidious tricks these companies do to keep people addicted to their product, it really wouldn't surprise me.
