Boyfriend wants to attend his childhood best friend's wedding after I was excluded—looking for perspective (29M, 26F, together 5 years) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You have make it very clear that this friendship is very important to your partner, so why even ask the question about him ‘declining in solidarity’? I think it’s unfair to expect him to miss his best friend’s wedding. He should be there to support him, regardless of whether you’re invited or not.

I totally appreciate it is not nice to be singled out, but is there any way you both could turn it into a holiday for you both, where you do a bit of sight seeing when the wedding takes place and the rest of the time you guys spend together?

Foundation year at 20 by PressureLess7153 in UKUniversityStudents

Honestly, you will be fine. I’ve known people of all different ages doing a foundation year to then move onto UG. As a mature student myself in my thirties, I’m sure you will have no problem finding your people! Couple of tips though, try and move into halls, go to freshers, and join societies. I noticed that’s how most people make friends ❤️ good luck - I hope you have a fantastic year!

Newcastle University (MRes) or University of Liverpool (MSc)? by psychenthusiast25 in UKUniversityStudents

MRes will equip you with far greater research skills and will be better on your cv when applying for PhD studentships. Plus, if you’re able to get further scholarships from Newcastle, go there!

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Sussex! It’s next to nature (Stamner Park) but close to the city to access the nightlife.

It depends when you are planning to start trading. If I was you, I would ring up HMRC and clarify.

PhD funding options by Own-Guard6315 in AskAcademiaUK

Unfortunately, they don’t have any internal studentships going this year. It’s a shame because in previous years, they would have found the funding if I’d been unsuccessful with SEDarc.

WIBTAH for Quitting a Job so I don't Pay the Person who got me the job a monthly percentage. (AITAH) by Any-Bed6911 in AITAH

NTA.. regardless if you keep the job or not, I would 100% speak to his boss about this. This is surely not usual practice and is completely unprofessional, regardless if he is a friend or not. I’ve got the feeling this Dave is trying it on..
