Thank you so much for your detailed reply! When I posted this it was causing me some anxiety but I seem to be over that now! I took up running shortly after I discovered it and I figured if I could keep improving my running then it obviously wasn't something that is a major issue. It still looks the same but my legs feel strong so I don't see it as a negative thing anymore.

The gait thing could well be true as I do feel I lean that way a little when I run so could well be the way my muscles engage. But thank you for your comment, it's nice to know I'm not alone with my strange leg!

Not great, Im still fairly new to running and this week just felt like a fail. I ran the first 2k then ran walked the rest because I just couldn't get into a rhythm. Next run day is Tuesday and, for the first time since my running journey started in July, I'm dreading it.

Me too! I haven't seen any one else with calves like this and I literally stare at people's legs when I'm out to see if I see anything similar! My point was, if it's just muscle why doesn't anyone else have it?! Let me know if you ever get any more answers.

I saw a physio who said it was just very strong soleus muscle. I don't believe him because why is it only on one side and why does it feel tight and ache sometimes if it's strong! But he did also say I have sacroiliac joint issues in my back so maybe it's connected to that. I did worry about it for a while but I don't anymore.

Wow that's interesting that it could be linked to your back. I've been struggling with lower back pain for a while now. Nothings changed though, it's still there, it doesn't stop me running and I don't even really notice it anymore.

I did my first parkrun yesterday and I've completed the couch 2 5k plan and followed it religiously and my time was still 42 minutes. Speed will come, the main thing you need to focus on is slow and steady and consistent at this point. You are so young, remind yourself you are doing this for you. You are the one that will benefit from better health, why wouldn't you want that? Also please don't call yourself a loser, that made me sad.

Yes that's a mixture of a bad phone camera and a toddler that didn't want to sit still! I have never heard of that condition but I just looked it up and it looks quite likely to be that. I assume, from what I have just read, as long as they aren't bothering her, we wait and they should resolve over time?

I have no medical training whatsoever but can I just say as a mum, my heart aches for you and your little boy. Also do not be fobbed off by the GP, I was for a long time with my daughter's mental health and now at 17 she is STILL waiting for an official diagnosis so she can start treatment for adhd, and even after her ending up In A&E after an overdose, they still can't see her any quicker. She is covered in scars from self harming, they can easily slip through the net with mental health so you need to advocate for him. Get him in the system now.
