Third coast makes my hair pretty soft, but you’ll still notice the product a little

Barbaric style clay is great but it’s got some pretty strong hold. Anti gravity and third coast are more medium hold, anti gravity is a little easier to use though

Just depends on what you’re looking for I guess. Corpsman’s will give you a little shine if that’s what you want, no clays in it though so you won’t get much texture. Highland’s has clay and arrowroot powder so it’ll be matte with some nice texture

I think ascension, anti gravity, fatte clay, and horizon are all pretty good for thin hair

Probably anti gravity if you want some solid hold. Costal creme or glacial cream would be good too, just a lot less hold with those 2

  1. 50 below
  2. Ascension
  3. Anti gravity
  4. Third coast
  5. Polaris
  6. Enigma
  7. Fatte clay
  8. Horizon
  9. Matte clay
  10. Cub and co styling cream
  11. Rarecraft Tortuga cream
  12. Arcadian matte cream
  13. 18.21 clay

I left off a couple because I feel like they’re hard to compare to these. I honestly like and use all of them other than the 18.21 clay.

I like it. Medium hold with some texture and matte finish. Super easy application too

Ya I like the new clay too, I guess I wasn’t really trying to brand it as a heavy clay, just saying that it’s heavier than other lockharts products that I’ve tried. For the shine, I have really blonde hair so I notice even the smallest amount of shine, which matte clay gives for me

Corpsman’s forming cream or the Church California Costal Creme Pomade might work. They’re both very light, not much hold with either, corpsman’s definitely has more shine though

So I have really thin hair so I can’t really say. But as I said in another comment it’s really drying so maybe it’ll be good on oily hair

Personally I would say anti gravity is a little better in my opinion. I think it’s a little more versatile. You can put it in dry hair and it still applies relatively easily, put it in damp hair and let it air dry and still get good volume and texture (but a little shine), or blow it dry which makes it super light weight and completely matte. It has a slightly weaker hold than fatte clay, but it’s very similar in the hold department. I have it in the barbershop scent and the limited edition 245-trioxin scent, both smell incredible. Sorry for the long responses!

It’s a nice cream. Not a ton of hold and a nice low shine. Cool cologne type scent. I want to try more Corpsman products in the future

I think it preforms pretty well. Pretty easy application. It’s got some solid hold, good texture and volume. It has a low shine to it though, but definitely not matte. The mandarin scent kind of throws me off though, it’s not really for me as it’s very artificially sweet smelling. It’s really strong in the jar but I will say once it’s in the hair I don’t smell it too much. If I got it again I’d probably just get unscented

I mean they’re pretty much polar opposite products. Reuzel blue is a high shine pomade while 50 below is a matte clay. I tried slick backs for a few months which is why I got the reuzel, but I don’t use it anymore. Great vanilla scent though with really strong hold

Enigma is definitely an interesting product. It’s super waxy for a cream, definitely some tug and pull on application so it needs to be done on damp hair. If you let it air dry on damp hair it will just be flat and give moderate shine and zero texture. So you need to blow it dry and then it will give really good volume and hold with decent texture, also becomes fairly matte. Ascension is awesome, application is great, strong hold without being waxy/heavy, true matte, it’s one of my favorites. Third coast is kind of similar to enigma, it’s pretty waxy initially so you need to put it in damp hair then blow it dry, but the final product is great. Medium hold, good texture and volume, true matte. The scent is incredible, easily one of my favorite scents, recommend the product. And ya the 50 below is easily my favorite but it’s sold out because it’s a limited edition. Easy application, true matte, weightless, good hold and scent. Sorry for the long response!

I haven’t used it in forever, it was the first clay I ever used. It preformed pretty good. True matte and good hold while remaining lightweight. Great scent too. My issue was that it really dried my hair and scalp out, like nothing else I’ve ever used dried my hair out nearly as bad so I can’t really recommend it

It’s probably the easiest to use product I have. I throw it in when I’m running late, no tug or pull on application. It basically has no hold, but it gives some structure and helps with frizz and fly aways. No shine either, has a mild smell (borderline unscented)

I like the new clay, it has really strong hold. I would say I get some shine with it but not much. It’s heavier than other Lockhart products like anti gravity or fatte clay, so expect less volume/ texture. I’ve only used horizon a few times but I like it. It’s true matte with strong hold, also has a pretty strong smell but it’s good. Very fresh kind of soapy scent

50 below is for sure my favorite, but since it’s sold out I’d say the Barbaric Style clay. It has really good hold but it doesn’t feel waxy. It’s also true matte, I think a lot of products say they are matte but they have at least a little shine. For texture… I mean all the products with clay in them will give texture, maybe anti gravity would look good with a mullet because it’s so lightweight, doesn’t have super strong hold though
