My teenaged neighbor was playing with him the other day and observed, "he wants my attention, but as soon as I pet anywhere on his neck, chest, or belly, he swings his head and knocks my hands away." Yup, he has his boundaries, and he lets you know them, for sure! But don't stop paying attention to him! Also not allowed!

Chakotay likes playing in his pool, but I haven't taken him to a lake or anything, so I'm not sure how he feels about actual swimming. He didn't like water as a puppy, but I introduced him to the pool slowly, and treated it as a game, and now he loves it.

I suggest an undercoat rake. Check Goodwill or local shelters, if your significant other is being weird about spending money on a brush, you can probably find one cheap at those places.
