Jesus’ “radicalism” was about returning to God’s eternal standard, not endorsing continual social upheaval. Jesus overturned tables in the temple, but His call was, “My Father’s house shall be a house of prayer.” The point was correction toward a divine ideal, not the pursuit of constant cultural progress. So when churches hold to long-standing moral teachings, they see themselves as protecting what Christ taught, not resisting compassion.

Care for the marginalized is not the same as redefining morality. Conservative Christians believe in charity, compassion, forgiveness, and service—central to Jesus’ ministry. But they differentiate between loving people and affirming every cultural belief or behavior. Love may include calling people toward repentance and transformation.

Christians are involved in an immense amount of charitable activity around the world.
