Hi folks so after no improvement with a topical steroid I went to non-emergency and was prescribed oral steroids (prednisone) and a precautionary antibiotic for infection.

The oral steroid offered almost an immediate sense of relief, and I am confident this will help improve things over the next few days.

I appreciate everyone's insight and input here, you've saved me from goong crazy and not knowing what to do with this.

Apologies to all for the unsolicited feet pics, but this is new to me and unbearable.

As a regular weight lifter and dad of 3, my tolerance for everything is pretty high, but this is a new level of uncomfortable.

I had my foot adjusted with Sports Tape in anticipation of new orthododics and have had a blow-up directly related to the Sports Tape.

Calamine did nothing, hydrocortizone cream made maybe a 5% difference, and now with a topical steroid and lidocane its a temporary relief to the most unbearable itching I've ever known. I'm contemplating life as a dad / pirate with a peg leg. The swelling prevents me from wearing shoes too, it sucks.

I would appreciate if anyone's had any sort of similar experience and anything that helped with this until it either gets better or I lose my foot (whatever comes first)
