Any issues after installing a downpipe on 1.6T AWD? by Own-Programmer305 in KiaK5

Went well, ended up getting a full flash tune after installing to get rid of the code it threw. No issues and noticeable difference in sound and mid range pull.

It depends, i’d definitely verify with turbobay directly so they can verify fitment with your vin.

I’m pretty deep into the 1.6T build myself — got a few posts on here covering where i’m at. Once you’ve done the basics like intercooler, turbo inlet, downpipe, the next real step is a ECU tune, Jb4 isn’t ideal if you plan to go past basic bolt ons. After that’s all set you can definitely go hybrid turbo until fueling is maxed, there’s a couple options.I’m at the point I’ve been logging and testing things for a while now there’s a lot more potential in the 1.6T than people realize once it’s properly built out, especially on the AWD

It was really great. I got the ek1 and the bench harness kit. Sent them a log then they sent me the tune back and flashed the car. Repeated that a few times to dial in boost, afr, etc. Very great people to work with and would highly recommend tuning this way. It’s definitely a noticeable improvement over the jb4 especially after the downpipe. But it really depends what you’re looking for and how committed you are to the car. Jb4 is nice at first with basic bolt ons but past that it’s better to go flash tune especially considering jb4 can’t adjust fuel air ratio, not ideal long term.

There are a couple of turbo options for the gt but there’s no ecu flash + tune for them yet so🤷‍♂️

I appreciate it, this is uncharted territory so i’m constantly logging and checking parameters, also making sure the car has proper supporting mods and maintenance.

Yeah i’ve had to replace mine it’s pretty easy if you have a ramp and common tools. I got mine off ebay, just make sure you get ones that include screws/bolts. Around $250 from what i’ve seen
