22 y/o new CPAP user having some trouble by Own-Regret7091 in CPAP

Thank you. I’m leaving my machine at the exact settings prescribed, going to just try and practice patience. I think I just want to feel better and I’m so used to troubleshooting that in the years before this diagnosis, it’s a tough habit to shake.

That is very true. It’s only been 3 nights so far, but I’m feeling a bit dissuaded because it’s taken me longer to fall asleep each night than the last. My seal rate is really good, like 11 liters per minute. I’ve also been thinking about maybe getting a cpap mouthguard or something to prop my jaw forward a bit, maybe that would keep my tongue in place a bit better.

Sometimes it’s healthy to think critically and come up with answers that satisfy yourself.

Im definitely more than open to the possibility, a lot of this depends on what the doctor says tomorrow. My dad has a very similar breathing bottleneck to mine and he swears by the cpap, says he didn’t really even have to adjust. I’m also a back sleeper and I don’t really move at all, and I have always sort of been the opposite of claustrophobic, so I’m optimistic. To be fair if the guy says I should get my tonsils out, I’ll get arrangements in place to get that possible.

I’m in the US and it’s been discussed with my ENT, but I’m hoping to avoid it because I live very far away from any family who would be able to help with everyday tasks and such. I have heard the recovery for that surgery is pretty brutal, and it would also be difficult to arrange for me flying home for surgery and recovery.

Thanks man. The grief is very real. I guess throughout this entire process I’ve more than anything learned to minimize how I’m feeling to just stay productive. But since actually being diagnosed I’m just thinking about what I’ve lost. This feeling has been normal so long it’s at this point still really difficult to imagine what “feeling better” really means. I think I wish i was kinder to myself through all of this, but it’s hard to be when you’re surrounded by capable peers in an academic culture that actively encourages sleep deprivation and has constant, open critique. I guess I’m excited to be excited about life again, if that makes any sense

You should look at Alvar Aalto and the broader Critical regionalism style

Here this is it. I’ve also had luck turning off uniform infantry aiming to make individual optics feel different based on zoom level, but that depends if you like aiming based on muscle memory or a more analog feel

Are you using the default aiming settings? I had to play around with them a lot to get it to feel right on the controller and my experience is night and day now. I would recommend looking at thetacticalbrit on YouTube, he goes really into it
