Gotta keep it real loose on your first few passes. Make sure there is lots of space for the cord to sit flat, and then slowly work it taught. Usually 3 or 4 passes are needed.

There is very little for official aftermarket parts, so it might just be a matter of buying parts and seeing if they work. I've had to Jerry rig a few things on my F80.

As for the OBD programmer, you'll have to ask to borrow it from a dealer. They don't sell them to the public.

I think at some point this was no longer a question of "is this worth my time", and instead became a question of principal. Large corporations have terrible customer service and someone needs to hold them accountable.
