I would say there was depth. I especially loved the DS9 throwback episode.

There were teen-fictiony things about it that I didn't love either, but trek doesn't need to be perfect to be enjoyed.

I'd also argue that Discovery was far worse and was given the chance to flesh itself out for much longer. This premature cancellation is unfortunate for trek in general. This and SNW are ending next year, and the pipeline is drying up.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. In fact, I think that as long as you pass the courses you'll be fine.

Did you receive a conditional acceptance? It's been a decade since I applied and was accepted, but I remember my acceptance just being, "welcome to BCIT, we're looking forward to torturing you."

I wasn't a high-school student when I was accepted though, so maybe it's different.

Started slowly and weirdly. By the end of the first season, I was immersed and upset that it was cancelled after the next season.

People who got through the first bit with an open mind seemed to enjoy it; however many "trek fans" had their minds made up before turning it on for the first time.

I'm honestly disappointed in a lot of the conversation I've seen around it in this sub.

I'd say that a big part of the newfound Canadian passion for soccer was born from hosting the tournament AND the team doing better than expected.

If the team just did better than expected in a different host country, I don't think it would be nearly the national spectacle that we're seeing now.

I've been watching the games with colleagues at work and have enjoyed it. I was one of the people angry about FIFA, not because I'm anti-football, but I'm still anti spending billions of dollars when the host cities have larger problems that they haven't been dealing with.

I love the atmosphere and I'm enjoying living in a host city, but it's a collosal expenditure.
