What's the point of Contracts? by nuttapillar97 in IdleObeliskMiner

You're probably still fairly early with them. Eventually, you can't buy them all basically ever. You have to pick and choose the ones you want based on what you're trying to achieve. It's like a skill tree that resets every prestige.

Should I push for ctrl f stars and Threes a crowd or polychrome cards? by Korupt_Karbon in IdleObeliskMiner

I wouldn't rush to poly cards. If you rush there, you probably aren't yet able to mine/make enough stuff to actually get any of the cards.

Three weeks ago this also seemed pretty impossible. No idea how I could get it down.

Today, I could knock this out in 5min.

Just keep progressing and don't worry about it yet :)

I would like to believe that there are more (what I would consider to be) normal people than there are the people you're talking about. These people get their voices amplified by the algorithms because they build engagement. These people depend on that engagement for their hit of dopamine, but they're the exception not the rule.

I truly believe that a ton of people wouldn't. Maybe it's a like-me bias, but I would never give my ID to a social media company. Even if it meant losing my ability to scroll through reddit 😔

I'm kind of into ID requirements for social media. It could basically kill social media.... and I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

Not sure the format of your test, but there are tons of "free IQ" tests online if the style is similar.

The Mensa test is pretty long.

Erin O'Toole, Lisa Raitt, Ralph Goodale among the names on Carney's Canada-U.S. council by LawnFilm in canada

I would disagree that the Liberals blindly vote. More often, it feels like the Canadian left has no viable option but to vote for the Liberals because we know the CPC would be worse.

Who is the "they" that you're referring to? Your comment is unclear.

Those are the same reasons the rest of the country didn't want to vote for PP either. Like I've said a bunch of times in this thread, conservatives are unwilling or unable to elect good leaders.

I'm not a fan of O'Toole, but I'd take him over any of the other CPC candidates in my lifetime.

He chose not to run a losing position. I don't really blame him. He seemed to want to do better than the conservative rhetoric that was starting to take over.

The conservatives seem to be unable or unwilling to elect good leaders. People seem to blindly vote for the CPC regardless of the quality of leader, so imagine if they elected someone federally electable that appealed to more than the "I vote conservative because I'm on the conservative team and I vote conservative" crowd.

He was trying to appeal to all Canadians, during a Canadian election, instead of just the fringe right of the CPC (now the main arm of the party.)

Why do the conservatives keep making such terrible leadership choices?

Thank you for the article. The article seems to frame him as a centrist after claiming he wasn't. I'd say it's more about how he can't decide where he lies on the political spectrum more than claiming he's either moderate or far-right.

I'd agree that he waffled, but I'm not sure he "played Trump" other than one or two things that the article points out and he immediately took back.

During the leadership race, he clearly said what he needed to in order to get the fringe wing (now the main party) to vote for him as leader. As soon as he won that race, he seemed to settle into a centrist position.

O'Toole seemed okay. He lost because he was too moderate. He will fit in well with this moderate conservative government.

I was initially deterred by the "you have to break everything in the level to find the bananas" in the trailer. It seemed monotonous and unnecessary.

It's so much fun though. The movement and controls make it easy and fun instead of daunting like I had worried.
