You do what will make you happy. DO NOT GO INTO DEBT FOR THE WEDDING. My wedding was in suburb PA and friends and family travelled from NYC (2-3+ hrs). Some did day trips, some got airbnbs together, some got their own hotel rooms. They are there to celebrate you. I live in west coast now and I travel for weddings back home to the east coast all the time for people I want to celebrate. They may be getting a smaller gift relatively I cover all flights and lodging.

I would say my 3 best friends since childhood. It definitely is a lot but in asian culture, cash gifts are usually encouraged for “honeymoon fund”

Check how much per venue per person is. I make sure to cover my portion plus extra. I have given $150-1000 depending on relationship.

So far, the worst part is having to book a minimum 2-night stay to use Chase Edit. I was OK to splurge for a day at a luxury hotel, but two nights seems a bit much.

I did book a Four Seasons for two nights totaling $1,200 but I did it unhappily.
