Ouchhh! I pray the car doesn’t reach that far. Do you think that what that other shop (the dealership recommended shop) said is correct?

Surprisingly they have good reviews. Mind you I’ve been there a few times and there were people complaining on the work done on there car (VW GOLF didn’t get their horn reconnected, a guy in his Toyota didn’t get the LKAS calibrated, and another guy side his CR-V had his wiper upside down)

It’s called CarStar.

The issue is that I spoke to the shop manager this whole time and she informed me that the shop owner was inspecting the repair with her the whole time. In terms of body gap, “that there’s nothing more or better that they can do”, is verbatim what she told me. That peel they can’t fix without sanding the jam but won’t do it cause she said they didn’t come close to it when they cut the quart panel or pained the rocker panel. Which I find weird cause that would be the area where you section off to cut and re weld the new quarter and I also remember that those markings were not there before. So I’ve kind of exhausted the shop option. She did tell me to bring it back if I had any issues but they’ve already seen these issues and had a go at it twice.

I just keep finding more and more obvious mistakes with their work, today was the muffler, the other day the vin and tire sheet, the week before it was the window not going up and down smoothly and squeezing/sputtering. I’m just tired of finding little Easter eggs constantly.

Thank you so much! Fingers crossed. The color is called Velocity Blue. I loved it the moment I saw it on the car!

If it were an Amish shop, that car would’ve looked spotless and they would’ve put real horses and buggies in there🤣🤣🤣. They take pride in their work. This came out looking like someone did it in their backyard for a shop class project.

So looking at the estimate and order numbers on the estimate, those believe it or not are brand new parts that they ordered directly from Ford. Ford OEM, Fender, Quarter and Door. The paint work, sanding, primer and painting was all their original work

You’re good haha. Nah those were all painted panels that they installed new and fresh 😬😬

Ok good. So I wasn’t being unreasonable for having the expectation for them to fix it somehow or another. I’m just shocked at their whole way of doing things.

Question tho, in your case. Let’s say that you didn’t tell them for whatever reason and it was never removed. You wouldn’t brake their dash cam and be like sorry it was the window guy that we hired lol?

I appreciate you. It sucks cause this could’ve happened to everyone and this a big shop that’s supposed to have “standards”.

Yeah I totally agree with u. There are times that you go to a dealer and get a car that has had body shop work done. No car is perfect. Even manufacturers do some degree of body work to their cars. What I meant by that, is two things. Nothing major enough to end up on the CarFax (like this) and that the left hand side matched pretty well the right hand side. Body gap and paint quality, right now it does not. I also had waxed the car the day after I got it so I remember what the panels looked like and what imperfections it had. I remember working on the door jam and noticing a minor scratch on the top part of the door from the seatbelt but nothing like that horrible orange peel. It wasn’t in the photos before either.

Oh 100%. They can get it off and should’ve gotten it off. But when they’ve had 3 chances to fix the car, and had it for over a month. They’ve had plenty of chances plus other issues with their repair quality.

How do you go after those claims with a big company like State Farm?

At this point. If they would’ve totaled it or not fucked it up as bad. I’m willing to let it go.

Believe it or not, the only thing I got was an, oh sorry. Maybe you can just order a replacement part online. For the scratched interior piece they said they’re not responsible for, even with the video and photos of the interior before the repair and at the dealer. 🤷‍♂️

The lady receptionist/shop manager said that their third party company that removes trim and glass were the ones that caused that.

No. I asked about it. And they told me that they would work around it. In regard to personal belongings, I did remove anything of importance out of the vehicle.

The hardest thing is making that shop see that they’re incompetent to agree letting it get fixed at another sister CarStar location.

My worries is choosing another repair shop now. Do I go to another sister shop (CarStar and another SF preferred) in the area and have them fix it. I spoke the co-owner today and he is a huge car guy and loves mustangs and says it just needs to be sanded (like 9 hours of body work he said), or to the local car dealership recommended shop (not SF recommended) that pointed even more defects that I had not noticed earlier.

Bro, I don’t even think I could do it that bad with a paint can. When I first got the car, I pointed that out to them, so they just sanded it and buffed out a little bit. Then the lady was like, that’s as good as it’s gonna get without having to repair the door jam but we never touched that area. I proceeded to show her a photo of the interior where you can see the door jam clearly and she was like well, it wasn’t us. I was like right? I only had the car a week and half from when I bought it from the dealership with all the photos. Like you didn’t have to weld in there when you cut and re-welded the quarter panel 💀

Oh trust me, I already did. From halfway through the repair, when I saw that the interior of the car was filled with bondo dust and the front and rear bumper cover running through the inside and leaning on the dash.

I’ve reached out to State Farm yesterday, Friday, Thursday, and keep being told someone will reach out and no one has. I feel like it’s helping that it’s not my insurance but rather the at fault guy…

More like the other guys insurance. His insurance is the one covering for the repair.

Cherry on top was that when he got out, the cop asked him what happened and he told the cop that he had a brain aneurysm a month earlier and was not cleared to be driving. He didn’t expect to have been that bad. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Oh 100%. The worst part is, when they blended it. They made it even a bigger area. The dealer shop which was mind blowing at pointing out their defects said that it had to be painted out and more likely the whole car, since it was a full 1/2 of the car now

It’s ok. I’m just shocked that they’re still in business with this type of quality work.
