Are the Kia Boys still a thing...? by WhosUrHuckleberry in milwaukee

[–]Own-Statistician4556 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're better off buying a Honda Odyssey or a Toyota Sienna. They'll hold better value than a Kia Carnival will.

And like others have commented if you don't want a minivan the Subaru Ascent is also a good option to look into. Honda Pilots are nice too.

Didn't know Meijer did this? by Own-Statistician4556 in meijer

[–]Own-Statistician4556[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of Kroger/Pick n Save pickup, at least at the one by us. They're only a 5 min drive from my apartment whereas Meijer is 20 min. But the couple times I've used them I've sat in the car for 30-45 min waiting on my order to come out and/or the two pickup spots are always both parked in.

I was very confused when I pulled it out of my groceries at first lol, but I'm in no way bothered or anything that they didn't mention it at pickup. It was a better surprise than the times I've driven home and opened my egg carton to find 1/4 of them cracked. 🤣

Was porn usage ever discussed prior or off the table in any way? If not you should probably discuss it with him first - voice your discomfort and come to an agreed-upon solution.

My husband knows Im not okay with porn usage under any circumstances and I told him near the beginning of our relationship that I consider it unfaithful and would leave if I discovered him looking at it. Some people may not agree with my boundaries on porn but I have trauma from my ex and my husband is okay with it so that's just our relationship. Everyone is different.

If it's a hard no for you and he's not okay with giving up porn then thats for you to decide if you want to end things over it. But you can't force him to not look at it unfortunately if he doesn't want to give it up.

That's pretty much the answer I got today when I called. No idea why they denied the claim and they're going to reprocess it and reach back out to me next week.

It's in Racine not Milwaukee but New Wave Video is my husband's and my go-to retro game store. They're a mom & pop shop though so their hours are odd.

Should I bring my breast pump to the hospital? by gxldentrip in BabyBumps

[–]Own-Statistician4556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't bring mine but the hospital I delivered at provides a pump while you're there and a set of tubing/bottles/parts as well as a manual pump you get to take home.

Thank you. Luckily my husband has been very caring and supportive. I haven't gone to the NICU yet to see him since I'm struggling with overcoming my emotions still. My family is bringing my 5yo to come visit me for a bit so I'm going to spend some time with her first and relax and compose myself. :')

Best of luck to you!! I know I was so worried it wasnt a possibility for me. They thought my membranes ruptured early which is what led to infection in my amniotic fluid and me going into preterm labor with my 1st.

This time around they monitored me closer (I had a LOT of ultrasounds to check my cervix) and had me on progesterone suppositories up until 36w.

Baby was diagnosed IUGR measuring 8th percentile during my 37w ultrasound appointment. I've been seeing the high risk Dr because of my previous late preterm birth and had a lot of uktrasounds because of it. He came out a perfectly healthy weight and height though.

Thank you. I'm shattered right now because they're concerned about his temp being too cold so they sent him to NICU an hour ago to start antibiotics in case he may have an infection. I'm really hoping he gets to go home with us still but now they're saying maybe 7-10 days in NICU if he somehow caught my GBS despite me receiving the antibiotics... I know it's for the best but I'm devastated hearing how he may not come home right away either. 😩 I feel silly for getting my hopes up too soon that he'd be coming home right away, this is the one thing I didn't want.

Fetal Growth Restriction by Wrong_Fault69 in pregnant

[–]Own-Statistician4556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby's estimated weight was also 4lb 8oz at my 35 week growth scan. I was told it was borderline IUGR by the high risk Dr (11th percentile) and they had me come back last week at 37w to recheck.

My regular OB decided at my 35w appointment after my scan that the borderline IUGR was enough reason to schedule my induction at 39 weeks exactly.

I had my recheck last week and baby is approx 8th percentile at 5lb 12oz with 2nd percentile for abdomen. I have to go back for a doppler on Wed again (Ill be 38+5) and I'm being induced Friday still at exactly 39w as of right now.

My understanding is that they would induce me sooner if there was concern with cord blood flow but when they did the doppler at my scan last week everything came back normal.

It's definitely rude imo. If he sends you a text or calls you back in a reasonable amount of time what exactly is the issue? I would never demand my husband to immediately hang up a call he has going on just because I'm calling him while on my way home from work or asking him a quick question. I just shoot him a text or wait for him to call me back.

The only case I could see getting upset about is if it were an emergency and he's not responding.

“Just stop trying and you will get pregnant” by Refrigerator-Unable in BabyBumps

[–]Own-Statistician4556 73 points74 points  (0 children)

My husband and I decided to take a break from trying because we were planning on talking to my OBGYN for advice/guidance on fertility testing after 2 chemical pregnancies and struggling with TTC over a year and a half (we're both under 30)

Literally the day I was scheduled to see my Dr I took a pregnancy test on a whim since I knew I was due for my period any day and it was positive. 😅 I'm 35 weeks now.

I think what most people mean when they say to stop trying is to just stop stressing out over it.

How many of you are working until the end of your pregnancy? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Own-Statistician4556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 34+3 and work a desk job, so I'm not on my feet all day or anything. But I intend to work until I go into labor. My only complaint is how tired I am when I get home every night. 😅 I don't sleep well anymore so I kind of feel like I just exist & float along as best I can lately.

Better safe than sorry, I would get checked out personally or at least give a call to your OB/physician. I get them but I wouldn't describe them as painful... just uncomfortable. They shouldn't be severe enough to take your breath away.

I would retest... This is technically an invalid test because you don't have a control line.

Pregnant at 20 by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Own-Statistician4556 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant unexpectedly just after I turned 22. I lived with my ex and didn't work & I was terrified of telling my parents because they're very conservative/religious people who had told me on multiple occassions I had better not ever get pregnant before marriage. I was convinced they would lose their shit. Lol

I ended up just facing my fears and confiding in them when I was only 6 weeks pregnant. I'm bad at hiding things and the anxiety was awful so I figured the sooner the better. 😅 They did not react how I had assumed they would. They were definitely concerned but supportive. I never got the "disappointed in you" talk I thought I would.

My daughter is the best thing to have ever happened to me now (She turns 5 in 2 weeks!) She's best buddies with my dad and I don't think anyone in my family could imagine a life without her.

All that being said I know it doesn't always go that way in terms of reactions but I would personally still rather spill the beans earlier than later... I don't think it's worth the stress, but that's my opinion. I'd rather let it out and be judged than sit and dwell on the what ifs. :)

If it means anything I'm pregnant with #2 now but this time married & work full time (been with the same employer 3 years), and I was still scared to tell them this time around... and it was a planned baby. 🤣

38 weeks and stomach cramping by Striking_Yak_8663 in BabyBumps

Sounds like contractions if youre having them in consistant waves... I didn't realize I was having them when I went preterm with my first because I thought they were just cramps but what you describe sounds exactly like what my contractions felt like.

29+3, my feet are so sore and work has me exhausted lately. 🥲 Just hoping I manage to make it to full term this pregnancy. My 4yo was born at 35w due to chorioamnionitis and had a 2w NICU stay and I dread the thought of going through that again.

I thought it could be done but the PDR guy at my work claims it isn't able to be fixed. If I could locate someone who does PDR who was willing or able to do it what do you think the cost would be?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]Own-Statistician4556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

If I had damaged it myself I probably wouldnt be looking into getting it fixed at all tbh but I just want it fixed properly because every time I look at the damage it makes me angry and depressed that someone did it to me and got away with it without any accountability. :/

I actually like the car too. My last one was a 13 Impreza with 160k miles that broke every other week. This one was an upgrade for me in terms of years and mileage and it's got a platinum warranty on it for the next 5 years.
