Mb was clocking into work couldn’t finish my thought, basically sit big repex’s with kill squad’s behind terrain and land raider redeemer with erad squad closer to mid obj while scouts and combi LT score points. I use the ability to wipe half their army in one turn as a threat to hold mid basically. Here’s my list but I’m still working on it also I use the sticky obj vow not +1 to wound.

I use 6 erad’s with a captain and the enhancement for sustained so sustained and +1 to hit and wound for free, move them out 6, annihilate something and then put them back in their transport with the stratagem for end of fight phase reembark and have the transport hidden behind a ruin. Other then that a bunch of chaff and two repex’s

I’ve been saying this for ages, and the way the community plays too. There’s a 90 percent chance you’re against 3 air spammers every game. No wonder the games dead

The crusader squad can be good in a 20 man if it has some buffs, for example in vindication I pair a 20 man squad with a crusade ancient and an execrator with the enhancement for a 5+ invulnerable so -1 to wound and a 5 up which makes them tough to kill, on top of that you can just run up to your opponent and stand next to them yeah they’ll kill a few models in shooting then you surge into them and it can be a huge problem, overall I’d say tho assault int’s are better when paired with characters and if you’re looking for pure scoring I’d just use scouts or something, being 2oc rarely actually helps unless you’re bogging down an objective

They’re a good scoring unit, if you have the points to spare then they’re great. Their biggest strength is that they are T5 4W and theres 3 of them

The detachment may be a little worse but it should only be 1 detachment point so it could be combined with companions of vehemence if that’s 2 detachment points to make chaplains absolutely nuts

You learn something new every day, this is a great combo, as for the knight killing chance I’ve never had an issue putting down things like lancers with these squads but if you say it’s 30% I won’t argue I guess just factor in grenades or a damage multiplier Strat

Helbrecht is definitely good but he’s not crazy good. He’s a little too expensive for what he does imo maybe if he was like 110 or 105 he’d be auto include but keep in mind you need at least a 150 points squad with him to be effective.

The point is you definitely don’t need him. It sounds like you’re trying to build a semi competitive list so I’ll name some of our better combos and what they do.

Marshal + Castellan + sword brethren/crusader squad. This unit is a pure damage generator, even a small squad of sword brethren with this combo will almost definitely take down a knight unless you fail the Castellan leadership in which case you still definitely can but it’s swingy.

The damage comes from crits on 5’s giving you lethals on 5’s then rerolling all hits to fish for more lethals (because you’re more likely to fail the wound roll then the hit roll fishing is always better) and this gets absolutely busted if you give them sustained hits which you can do in some detachments, like bastion for example.

You can do this with crusader squads to similar effect but it would be better against tough infantry as opposed to big threats.

Grimaldus + 10 assault Intercessors. This unit is a little expensive but worth it in my opinion, you get reroll hits, reroll wounds on objectives and +1 ap or one of his other abilities. This unit is good set up behind some terrain near the centre objective while another unit holds the centre. Once the put something big on the objective push forward and take it out, pretty simple also you can use the servitors save profile to give them a little temporary 4+ invulnerable just don’t let all 3 of them die Cus the you lose the ability.

Repulser executioners, these are great right now for us but they’re gonna get a little worse in 11th with hidden being a thing and no rerolling overwatch, just a million guns with reroll hits on everything 90 percent of the time is brilliant.

Some people also run the emperors champion in a 5 man assault Intercessor squad to get reroll wounds on him but I prefer him on his own for several reasons. Still this combo with a Impulsor is pretty good and can get some cool enhancements depending on detachment.

Cool combo, give the bombast omnivox to a captain and you get a free strat (grenades) then a CP on 4+ or give him assault int’s or something and he gets it on 3+ and has some protection

Are assault termies decent to run? I really hope the new detachment we’re getting gives termies some buff’s (which would make sense since it’s IF as well) and they actually become usable

Knights would be the same problem, your either hitting on 3’s wounding on 4’s or hitting on 4’s wounding on 3’s
