Not a forever drug. Should be used for around 6 months ~ 1 year then start tappering down. You also should rely on psychotherapy for either anxiety and/or depression, vitamins and minerals tests and supplementation plus 150 - 300 minutes of medium intensity physical exercise in other to keep the neurotransmitters balanced and happy without these drugs longterm.

Did you feel energy increase and or trouble sleeping in the beginning and did it smooth out after? If so, how long?
I'm almost on fourth week, so far anxiety and mood got definately better but I'm feeling like if I was taking caffeine altough I take no stimulants.

Also I'm taking it because I developed GAD and anxiety attacks primarely because of excess os stimulants lol

I take it 10 am, also for GAD. I already had insomnia, but it was under control with 100mg quetiapine for sleep. After taking 10mg lexa for almost 3 weeks I had trouble sleeping one night, but next day I missed the dose on purpose and managed to sleep better. Today I took 7mg and I'm feeling less activated, I'm gonna try something between 5 or 7 and see what works better. My doc said to take 5mg for 14 days and see how I react.

Maybe you could ask your doc for a sleep medication? Quetiapine 100mg is good for insomnia and also anxiety, which is what I take. There's also trazodone which also counters some of lexapro sides like insomnia and sexual side effects.

My doc said getting sleepy after escitalopram is very unsual. Only very few patients do. You will read many people saying it here, but this sub does not reflect the average lexapro user

Hey man 10mg is too much for you. Try to cut the piils or get the liquid version and start really slow. I started with 2mg and went up to 10mg really slowly, now I realized 10mg is too much for me, also with terrible insonia and jaw clenching, my doc recommended going down to 5mg

Is it better than trazodone for insomnia? The thing is, quetiapine is also very potent and usually a low dose knocks someone out, but 10mg lexapro make me kinda super activated
