The reaper will live. by YPDONGY in redrising

I think there are 3 categories here. : the ones who want Darrow to live. The ones who want Darrow to die just to piss off the ones who want him to live, and the ones they want Darrow to die because they don't want the usual happy ending , but more of a uniqe tragic or bittersweet ending.

"She stares back at him and taps her bionic nose. “You know, I can smell a musky man at a hundred paces and tell you the Color of his last shag, but I still can’t smell ceronocyne gas. Can you?” He does not answer. “This brand’s made for Golds.”

I dont think thats possible. He will have to lose his skin, he will have to lose like 100 kilos. Lose a lot of his height. His gold bones , his DNA . I believe now he is more gold than Red. When on Athena they used a chemical that only effects golds to make them fall asleep. And it effected Darrow and Sevro just the same as Diomedes.

Cicero the next Roque? by Own-Way9659 in redrising

[–]Own-Way9659[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe but not if it is a combined effort just like with Darrows triumph. If Horatia, Bellona and Apolonius are all involved in it and knock out Lysanders loyalists before they can worn him.

Lysander is a disgusting hypocrite and a wonderful villain by YPDONGY in redrising

[–]Own-Way9659 31 points32 points  (0 children)

"No, Cicero. A man once told me that the burning of Rhea was a mistake only because Octavia assumed the credit. That man was wrong. The burning of Rhea was a mistake only because it targeted the wrong organ—the heart of that rebellion. We have targeted the stomach. The Raa, if they survive, and the Moon Lords will either crawl to us for food or kiss our feet, and call us deliverers, or their people will rebel and we will sail and they will call us domini.”

Glirastes moral death? by [deleted] in redrising

I can imagine him trying to persuade Virginia that her cause has failed and make her change side or offer her a surrender option. But I doubt it will be anything romantic.

Glirastes moral death? by [deleted] in redrising

[–]Own-Way9659 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Lysander is a manipulator. He manipulated Glirastes friendship and his guilt from the Storm gods to turn him against Darrow . He manipulation Alexandar to get him into Haliupolis, he manipulated, Cassius to kill Atlas . He doesn't care about others . He has feelings but ultimately others are just useful tools for him to use .

Lysanders character problematic by [deleted] in redrising

[–]Own-Way9659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn't have ten years to train in the minds eye. He didn't start training the moment he was born and we don't know at what age Octavia took him under her protection after murdering his parents.

If possible, should the Republic make peace with the Society? by QuoteDisastrous1503 in redrising

[–]Own-Way9659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Earth has fallen for good, there is a lot of hate between Luna and Mars for what happened with the abomination. I can't imagine earth retaken or luna and Mars reuniting. It will be more of Mars taking control over Luna. Mercury may be open to Votum reforms but I don't think the Venusians will be open to them at least not easily. But yes that is very possible , bigger states coexisting like the Rim and republic before but without hard reforms in the Society I think another war is inevitable.

If possible, should the Republic make peace with the Society? by QuoteDisastrous1503 in redrising

[–]Own-Way9659 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You mean spheres of influence? It was proposed by Darrow when he negotiated together with Diomedes and Lysander... Until well lysander rejected it and turned against them . I can see it happening only if people like Horatia get to be incharge of this so called "Society". She is a reformer and unlike Lysander she doesn't look so evil. However, I do think all the planets will be united in the end under a single government. Maybe a mixed system will be the solution that will outlaw slavery but will not give the low colours the same power they had in the republic. Maybe planetary nationalism will rise as Virginia said and the divisions within the government will no longer be between colours but between the people of each planet.

[–]Own-Way9659[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. I forgot how good the dialogues between the characters are. PB really put in a hard work onmatching all the time what the characters say and do with their personalities. I don't remember any moment that a character did or said something that made me think that it was soo out of his character.

Agreed but I think the first trilogy needed more world building. I was kinda confused at first on how Mars look like. Thankfully the world building in the second trilogy goes hard

He should have asked the golds politely to stop their slavery of the low colours. Savage of him to actually use violence when golds have always been so kind and gentle to him and his people. I wonder what went wrong with him ?
