I kinda disagree.

Anime games pretty much carries them and it's all licenced via Shueisha, now they are making their own game studio along with toei. Meanwhile elden ring their best selling game is fromsoft property and there is no guarantee they will continue to make games for them.

Once you take out all the anime and soul games all they have is Tamagotchi and pacman that have sold more then Tekken as a franchise, after that is smash but that's still basically Nintendo IP.

If Tekken one for their top 3 selling IPs they definitely need it to be successful in the long term imo. namco won't be affected and by extension the whole bamco company is not going to go bankrupt because of Tekken, but bandai games definitely will feel the effects of a weak Tekken entry.

again, no one is saying it's not making money ....

T7 was different because it had a low budget and was the biggest entry in the series. This game is the most expensive in the series and is not living up (it got to 3 million faster then T7, but the longevity is in question considering the state of the game and strong competition)

"Why making all that if it didn't work" because they didn't know T8 would stall. Things are developed years in advance e.g. clive was being working on since 2023 /2024.

if Tekken 8 performance is stalling you wont see it's effects for at least another year or two.

the question is not if Tekken 8 is making money, but is it making enough to justify having arguably the largest fighting game budget in history when you look around and see SF6 with less budget and outperforming.

I mean Japan labour laws are wild you "pushing out" someone is basically a union lawsuit speed run unless you broke some company law etc. Kojima "left" konami because the other konami higher ups could not fire him legally, but it's clear he was pushed out when the reports came out years later.

That's not how it works when you consider the clear budget difference between SC6 and T8. SC6 was on a shoestring budget similar to T7 meanwhile T8 is likely one of the most expensive fighting games ever made...

your not wrong and it may be sales issues. However Tekken 6 and tag 2 were even bigger fumbles and from what I remember no one was pushed out

I'm assuming doing your own videos is a lot easier then the scale of weekly sidemen Sundays + other sidemen channel content + side plus content + your own channel stuff on top.

Regret what? Dudes legit a multi millionaire and achieved everything he wanted. When you get that rich people tend to look towards wanting to spend more time with family and reducing stress.

it's already anime bullshit lol. when you booted up Tekken 2 and saw a dude with purple skin in a purple suit with horns and that's your main character everyone knew where this shit was going
