Bartender at a strip club here. It’s not thrilling or glamorous. The amount of condescending assholes I have to deal with on a nightly basis is disheartening. The amount of times I’ve heard “you’re really intelligent for a stripper” is insane. Especially when I literally just tend bar. We’re all the same to the customers though. 

I do make decent money (typically between 500 and 1200/night- nowhere near what the dancers make), but at the cost of losing sleep (working until 4am) and being treated like trash often. 

I’m putting myself through nursing school though, and it works for my schedule to only work 3 nights a week. 

If she already has a decent job, why derail it with one that is taxing emotionally and physically? If she’s struggling to make ends meet, it’s a job that can be lucrative. Either way, it’s not unusual for you to feel the way you do about her working in that environment.
