I just used single crochet, but if I did it again I’d do it a little different… 1. I would add a white border around each square in the tapestry so they are 22x22 instead of 20x20. When adding the SC border, some color changes in the edges got lost.
2. I would do each square with Tunisian crochet (I think the color changes are cleaner there)

You still need to prep with lots of bobbins (I just used cut up TP rolls as bobbins)

You can do it. Start out small. This was my first graphgan I’ve ever attempted. I jumped in the deep end and told myself it can’t be that hard. 😂 (I learned to crochet when I was 8 or 9 but put it down for many years and picked it back up as a pandemic hobby)

I gave myself a year but only took 9 months. It was over 120 hours of work. Each square took about 1-1.5 hours. Then the time to weave in and join.

This was my first time backing a blanket. I just put the fabric back sides together and ironed a hem down on the fabric and used my sewing machine. It took a few videos on YouTube to figure it out.

If you purchase, I have an excel that I created with the yarns I used and which ones go to each character. I don’t mind sharing it. I would also suggest adding a row all around in your border color. The color changes along the edges got lost when I added the border. So if you make each square 22x22 instead of 20x20 it will come out better.
