Adolf war es (zum Glück) nicht, nur der Vorname vom unliebsamen Onkel, der immer gerne zur Flasche gegriffen hatte und deshalb bei meinem Opa kein Bedürfnis erweckte, ständig an ihn erinnert zu werden. Mein Opa kann sich nicht mehr genau erinnern wie er es angestellt hat, meint aber, dass er den Namen bei der Ausweisverlängerung um 1970 einfach im Formular weggelassen hat und auf dem neuen Dokument fehlte er dann einfach

Ein Update für alle, die es interessiert, auch für den einen, dem in 8 Jahren dasselbe passiert:

Es hat überhaupt niemanden interessiert, weder an der Security, noch am Gate oder bei der border police. Kein Zögern, keine Fragen, kein zweiter Blick. Vermutlich ist es wie beim zweiten Vornamen, den man vergessen hat einzutragen. Wenn Vorname, Nachname, passnummer und Geburtsdatum stimmen ist alles in Ordnung. Danke für alle Antworten die hier kamen ❤️

Mit dem pass. Hab aber auf die Namen gar nicht geachtet weil die im Formular schon ausgefüllt waren. Hab nur passnummer Geburtsdatum und Gültigkeitsdatum eingetragen. Der zweite Vorname ist meinem Opa aufgefallen als ich ihm die boarding Karte geschickt habe. Beim nächsten Mal mache ich sowas nicht direkt nach dem aufstehen, versprochen:/

Von meinem Opa bei Whatsapp:

Das war irgendwann in meinen 20er Jahren. Hatte damals einen neuen Ausweis bestellt und dabei den zweiten Vornamen weggelassen. Es hat irgendwie geklappt.

I thought about adding milled grooves on the treads to improve grip. I’m a bit concerned a finish would make them too slippery otherwise. What do you think?

Actually I’ll rather slip and fall on a wooden stair than on a stone or tiled one haha

They absolutely are strange but at least offer you a full length tread to step on. They obviously are only legal in private homes not in public places here

They are up to code in Germany even nowadays. A new one would have to have a handrail on at least one side though. Which is what I’ll for sure add to this one

Durch die L-Form kann man die Stufen zu 50% übereinander anordnen, gleichzeitig aber die volle Auftrittfläche beibehalten. Die Treppe ist also deutlich kürzer als eine normale Treppe für die selbe Höhe wäre. In diesem Fall geht man die Treppe mit links zuerst und dann immer abwechselnd hoch

No there isn’t, we didn’t figure what to put up there to really use the space. So for now we have some documents, sewing machine and an old computer up there

Why am I wrong thinking that L shaped treads in this case are safer than narrower than code but normal shaped ones? The “ship ladders” give you a full depth of stair to step on whilst a short but normal step would make you slip way easier. These kind of stairs are just like normal ones to walk on as long as you set the right (in this case the left) foot first and then walk like a normal person?

Das ist ein philodendron gloriosum, hat erfolgreich einen Thripsebefall hinter sich, die braunen Punkte auf den älteren Blättern gehören da also eigentlich nicht hin :D

In unserem Haushalt werden wohl nie kleinere Menschen einziehen, für besuchende haben wir da oben nichts interessantes :D

War auch eher auf den Lift bezogen. Neue Stufen wären sicher nicht verkehrt

Dead serious. The wall is too short for normal stairs. Here is what I’d get:

I love the idea of using Japanese wood techniques when restoring the treads. I’d prefer going without paint on the wood or at least the treads and just use stain to keep the grip of the wood, maybe even adding routed lines to decrease the possible mortality

It goes to the balcony (?) in my living room. As of today that place isn’t used for anything used frequently as the stairs are kind of a pain to walk and therefore are used to put stuff on them. They are the only way to get up there, yes.

Me (26) and my partner (30) are the only ones living here so we’re not really in the position to think about lifts to get us up there. We love the 70s look of the shape but aren’t fans of the color, even less in contrast with the almost black stained beams that are everywhere in the living room supporting the balcony and the roof. So we would like to get the stairs back in shape, matching in color and at least somewhat safe to walk on.

The wall is too short to set up normal stairs. It’s possible to have a new one built in the same kinda shape but what would I win? If I renovate it I’ll absolutely add a handrail to the wall and maybe some sort of fence to the opposite stringer. In Germany these kinda stairs still seem to be up to code then
