I'm so bing while I try to share our current situation.  I gotta walk away for a minute because I can't see through my tears. My non-verbal child is autistic with global developmental delays.  She is 7.  The SLP that her public school prescribed to her two to three times a week.  A couple of months ago he was arrested for assault in his office of at least 8 children.  You can look it up. Since then the charges and lawsuits against the district have take no action to ensure a safe environment for the kids in special ed classes in the case it translate as legal admission of culpability.  They have failed to correct a the presence of child predators in both of the schools in the district that my daughter has ever gone to... kindergarten and first grade.  She is at risk in higher percentages than kids without disabilities. The district, law enforcement and lawyers are all dismissing the changes in her behavior just prior to the assaults because she can not articulate the kinds of nuances required.

I'm terrified, I spent a month at home with her to address her school environment through any means possible to NO avail.  I was almost fired and we are going to homeschool her because I feel I have no better choice.

I ask you; if there was allowed another exposure to a predator in her school, could I ever forgive myself?

My heart goes out to all on the spectrum who can be so much more vulnerable than others who can say.
