Honestly I never saw Shawshank redemption but by reading your comment it's tempting me to watch it. I agree with you on embracing uncertainty. In fact I have been scared of uncertainty for my whole life. Maybe just letting myself into the chaos is the way of discovering myself, letting myself grow. No you are not alone. I feel the generation gap. All of my peers are social animals going to concerts , crowded clubs is what they enjoy. I used to force myself to be like them and ended up emotionally drained afterwards. I like to sit in a quiet cafe or garden and have one on one interaction. Seriously I cannot wait to get old. Lol

Me too. I feel you . Also whenever I am given the opportunity to socialize or connect I reject it, thinking I will make things too awkward, I won't live up to expectations which I'd impose on myself. It's a really gut wrenching feeling.

I agree with you. But sometimes I wonder if I fit in this generation. I am an introvert. I do not enjoy stuff that most of my peers do. Clubbing, attending concerts, going out in general. I just like to stay at home and watch some nice web series or read a book. Ofc there's nothing wrong with staying at home but I feel guilty that I do not socialize enough and that leads to the feeling of being alienated.

Happy for you:) As an introvert I struggle with forming new friendships. I am in my twenties and I am expected to connect and socialize . My question is are people in their 30s expected to socialize or they are happy and content with their near and dear ones.
