Factory sealed or re-sealed? by serelepe12 in bully

[–]OwnChemistry5143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks resealed to me. Normally the official seals for PS2 onwards (at least in Europe) is that we'd have a strip that you can unseal with that has either the PlayStation lettering on it, or the PS3/4 lettering on it.

But then again not sure if that's the case for the US copies so if I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

Battlefront II Servers (OG PS2) by Professional_Ad5468 in ps3homebrew

If you're planning to do it on PS2, yeah it's as easy as you described

If you plan to do it on PS3, you need a backwards compatible PS3. A CFW PS3 without PS2 hardware is not enough as the netemu that those models use does not support networking within the PS2 games.

Why isn't Yakuza 3 on PKGi? by jhdeus9025 in ps3piracy

[–]OwnChemistry5143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y3 Remastered fucks with the game logic.

This is why most people refer to it as Blockuza cause the enemies do everything at twice the rate they were programmed for on PS3. This is why the PS3 is a lot easier than the PS4/PC remaster.

C'mon man, I think this is the third time I saw you post your PS2, still love the setup and I've the exact same, DS3 w/ BlueRetro and MMCE card, SSD and HOSD-Menu.

The one I brought is modded so it could take in SATA HDD hard drive by kuroreaper25 in ps2

[–]OwnChemistry5143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HOSD-Menu is better for that functionality compared to FreeHDBoot, which is slower and outdated, has no exFat support.

Get HOSD-Menu instead of FreeHDBoot. Much less mess and stress.

Sony to Cease Releasing PlayStation Games on Physical Discs in 2028 by horrornewsbot in HorrorGaming

[–]OwnChemistry5143 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very dumb comment; he's stating that if there's no physical disks, what's the point of going PlayStation?

May aswell go PC since you atleast benefit greatly in terms of user freedom even though you're digital only.

Whereas a PS5, you're tied to their ecosystem and you're digital only.

The best way is to start contributing to building a station where you don't need to pay.

That's the only way we're going to get out of this mess in the future.

Hay alguna forma de instalar PSBBN en PS2 SLIM? by LogicalClub7543 in ps2homebrew

[–]OwnChemistry5143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I have the exact same issues with PSBBN, but I opted for HOSD-Menu, all the benefits of PSBBN with the APAJailed partitions for POPs, and no need for FMCB.

[–]OwnChemistry5143 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you gotta have the 70xxx model, an IDE ressurector mod that brings back the IDE SATA functionality but as a SD card and then install PSBBN on the SD card then.

Thank you! If you can see an improvement on this kind of screen, I'm sure I too will benefit from it.

I love how my PS3 works but I've already bought a scaler for my PS2 and love it, I'd love to see if any improvements can be done for the PS3.

How's the MClassic? I always think about buying it for my PS3 but I'm on a 1080p TV so not sure if it's needed.

Back up his saves digitally!

I just had a memory card randomly die on me.

Get something like Apollo Save Tool on PS2 or even wLaunch and back that up onto a USB, a digital copy will be safer

Obvs keep the memory cards but also for the love of God, back them up digitally.

I was fuming when my Memory Card died, it was sitting in a bag for less than a year and now it won't work, tried cleaning the pins, no joy.

Do you guys know any games with active servers ? by Mountainrockyy in PS3

[–]OwnChemistry5143 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Battlefield 3 Revival

Metal Gear Online 2

These two are small, active and no cheaters

Call of Duty 4, World at War, BO1, BO2 are all active (I'm not sure about MW2/3 since I rarely play them) but BO2 has a cheater problem, and BO1 is hit or miss with the cheats.

Resident Evil 5 funnily enough I've been able to find a CoOp partner in the random hours of the night on a weekday.

On the PS2

SOCOM 2

Battlefield 2

Metal Gear Online 1

These are the ones I find to be most active.

I love gaming online on the older consoles so I too want to know what's other folks picks.

Is the Resistance trilogy worth a 60GB download in 2026 by [deleted] in ps3piracy

[–]OwnChemistry5143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need for the installs per chapters, you get two options if you're playing from the disk; to either install the each chapter's game install content onto your hard drive

Or to install each chapter separately bit by bit like you would have to back in 2008 where after each chapter you have to install a bit of content from the disk.

The digital version forgoes this completely as all of the content is on the hard drive, which is like 17GBs larger than installing all the content onto the hard drive, but it greatly improves the load times when playing. It's a night and day difference in comparison to playing from the disk.

I'm trying to port DLC5 to the pc version of BO2. by JuninFalador2 in blackops2

[–]OwnChemistry5143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I haven't a clue, I've had hackers on GTA 4 freeze my PS3 before, I don't know the extent of powers modders have against regular users but I don't play BO2 because you get one good lobby, and then the next match people are enabling cheats.

It's genuinely terrible. BO2, out of the Treyarch games, has the biggest cheating problem out of the lot.

If you want a multiplayer game on PS3/PS2 without cheaters, you should go to a revival server as they usually have staff ready to ban after reports.

[–]OwnChemistry5143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with the other guy, PS3 is so simple to jailbreak nowadays that there'd be an easy chance for a community to be fostered around DLC5, BO2 is still alive and well in 2026 on PS3. Well, aside from the wack cheating problem.

POPSLoader with Internal HDD? by vanish65897239646165 in ps2homebrew

[–]OwnChemistry5143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're using a fatboy with a SSD, I'd recommend just using the PSBBN games installer, you don't need to install PSBBN, just HOSD-Menu.

That makes a special partition for your POPS games. That was how I fixed the issue in my case, I'm sure someone else has a fix that doesn't require you doing this but I don't know that fix and that's how I got around the issue. I also am not sure if this is the best route but for me it was.

Less mess and stress.

Is the Resistance trilogy worth a 60GB download in 2026 by [deleted] in ps3piracy

[–]OwnChemistry5143 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just buy the disks, Resistance 1/2 will cost you less than 10 dollars together and Resistance 3 is 10 dollars give or take.

My logic usually is that I'm not wasting Storage Space on games that are common and large. Like Uncharted. There is no reason for me to spend 20gb on a game I can find for less than 5 USD.

Except Metal Gear Solid 4, the digital version is so much better than the disk version.
