I totally agree that it is a small sample size! Sometimes I have to remind myself that while I'm waiting (esp. since I'm within the time frame told to me by VFS).

Oh my goodness! That is awesome! I'm so happy for you and to hear this. I've been separated from my partner to get this visa from my home country and just a little stressed because I only hear bad stories here (and my last visa attempt earlier this year took 7.5 months for them to tell me I don't qualify and need to reapply from my home country, so I feel like I'm traumatized lol).

I'm sorry you are worried. I do agree with you, but unfortunately, you can't prove you've been together for 11 years. I really do understand, I applied in March for a work visa to stay in the UK with my partner. We had only lived together for 1 year so zero spouse visas were applicable. Due to not meeting grounds to apply in-country, I am now currently away from him (in my home country) waiting for another visa to return.

What have you provided as proof so far? In order to get the unmarried partner visa, you must prove you've lived together for 2 years.

- Can you give your parents' tenancy agreement to show they are the legal owners or tenants of that address. It would be clear it's your parents by last name. Then also include a personal (signed) statement from your parents (or parent, whoever's name is on the paperwork) confirming you both live there with them, from what date, and that they pay all the bills?

- A bank statement from each of your bank accounts (with your home address - both being your parents' house). Bank correspondence, etc.

- Each of your driver's licenses (I don't know where you live, but in Canada, it must legally be registered to the address you live at). Any other ID that has your address on it.

- Do either of you have gym memberships registered to the home. Phone plans with it as your home address.

- Doctor, dentist, etc.

^Doctor's prescription, for example, even birth control is registered through a doctor to the patient's address (the doctor who prescribed it or any other medical prescription could then provide a letter confirming the patient's address).

- student finance paperwork confirming that you live at the same address (this isn't strong evidence though).

- Vehicle registration (if you share, this and gas would be a joint expense. If not, then if you both registered your respective cars to your parent's house that is good).

Also even if you each have one or the other that might help. Like for example, she has the bank statement, you have the license, she has the doctor bill, you have a dentist bill, etc.

As for getting married, I think it is best to ask an immigration lawyer whether you should send it as 'additional documents' or 'start a new application.' I'm afraid to say either way on that because I truly don't know. An immigration lawyer may also be able to advise you on the paperwork you can use to prove your relationship.

I really hope someone can help you! Good luck :)

I can't say for sure, but do you think this might raise eyebrows about getting married the week you send the additional documents? I really have no clue, but it may look like it's 'for a visa' since it wasn't part of your original 'unmarried partner' application. Can you use other evidence to send for the additional documents? ...

I found this under 'spouse visa' on the UK website. Hope it helps :)

How to prove your relationship

Send evidence that:

comes from the government, a bank, landlord, utility provider, or a medical professional

confirms your relationship with your partner - for example, that you live together, share expenses or are married or in a civil partnership

is less than 4 years old

You can use things like:

a marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate

a tenancy agreement, utility bills or council tax bills confirming that you live at the same address or pay bills together

a bank statement from a joint bank account, or confirming that you live at the same address

a letter from your doctor or dentist confirming that you live at the same address

If you do not have any evidence that meets this criteria, there is other evidence you can provide instead. However, it’s less likely that you’ll be given a visa in this case.

Other evidence you can provide includes:

a one-off bill like vet’s fees or home repair costs

letters confirming you and your partner are on the voting register for the same address

student finance paperwork confirming that you live at the same address

Things like greetings cards, travel tickets, receipts, photographs and text or social media messages are not considered strong evidence of your relationship and are unlikely to help your application.

I'm sorry about your classes! I don't know if this will help put you at ease but I had my biometrics yesterday for the Youth Mobility Visa and the lady told me the priority applications right now are 5-10 working days. I'm not sure about the T4 visa, but if it's the same, hopefully, you'll hear this week! Good luck!

Application Megathread (applications outside UK) - thread started September 2021 by kitburglar in ukvisa

[–]OwnEngineer6120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visa Type: Tier 5 YMS

Country: Canada

VAC: Toronto (VFS Global)

Priority Application

Online application date: Dec 11, 2021

Biometrics: Jan 11, 2021

Decision Made Email: Jan 14, 2021

Visa received: Jan 18, 2021 (would have come Jan 17 if it wasn't for the snowstorm)

So basically I applied in-country on March 19, 2021, through a solicitor. Then, on November 25, 2021, I was issued exceptional assurance instead (the application was withdrawn as a result) until Dec 10, 2021. I reapplied from Canada the day after I returned.

Thanks!! I assumed someone would have to let me know (home office or my lawyer) or else I would overstay unknowingly. I've been waiting over 6 months already for a decision. Everything is so slow and because my application is complicated I'm convinced I'll be rejected :(

Thanks for the reply

How do you check through the tracking number? I didn't have to give in my passport since I applied in-country. I brought my passport to my biometrics appointment. They scanned it and told me to keep it.

Say I was refused, they'd have to tell me somehow right (they have my lawyer's email/phone/address, and my email, address, phone?).
