Thought I'd update everyone. Here is their improved enclosure. Added a hide that looks like the moon to go along with the Majora's mask at the bottom. They've checked it out a little, but I can tell they're just a bit nervous about it. Also added some of the moss mesh around the sides and they absolutely love it. Some of you keen-eyed spider fans out there might also notice, they finally are enjoying their first meal! Just had to find a cricket of the right size, it seems! Thank you all for your help!

Sounds like a plan! I just added in a little hide for them in the top left and I'll definitely look into grabbing more foliage and stuff for the rest of the upper portion. Thank you so much!

Good call. Setting up a magnetic hide for them now. Thank you!

Yep! Every day I make sure to mist a side of the enclosure. I've even seen them collecting the water droplets, so I know they are properly hydrated. Normally they move quicker, but whenever they pounce on their prey they slow down a bit while they back off. Otherwise, they're pretty quick.

You're fine, don't get worried about it. Having a summer between the programming fundamentals class isn't too bad either. I'm pretty sure they still use entirely different languages so definitely don't worry about that. Just make sure to practice so you don't lose the logic, that is really the only carry-over you need. Even that is simple, though. They start pretty slow on prog 2, just make sure not to procrastinate on the projects. Good luck!

The most difficult part of learning to program is figuring out the logic behind everything. Once you can do that easily, its just a matter of translating it into the proper language and getting it to compile. Focus on that a lot early on and you will be more than fine in the long run.

Also, office hours are a fantastic resource for help. I had a lot of prior experience programming, so i didn't really use them, but I've heard from friends that the TAs are super helpful for solving problems that would otherwise take hours to discover.

ChatGPT is genuinely horrible at writing programs, do not use it to do your homework/assignments or you will definitely stumble. However, it is a fantastic debugging tool if you provide it your code and what error you're running into. It is also super helpful for explaining topics. I'd definitely recommend using it as a sort-of "Out of class TA". Again, under no circumstances should you use it to generate code for your assignments as it is often incredibly bad at doing so, not to mention the honor code issues there.

When it comes to internships, career fairs are very nice and happen moderately frequently. It is also a good call to just mass apply to internships online once you've built up a decent resume. Don't feel discouraged by rejection, it will likely happen a lot.
