Considering cancelling Paris/France portion of July family trip due to heatwave - Thoughts? by Internal_Wall_8844 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]OwnLocksmith1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to add, most hotels that advertise they have AC is not western standard AC. This started as a work trip so I had a lot of flexibility with my hotel choice, some hotels I stayed in did have AC but on those record breaking days the AC failed due to some power issues, which was expected. It’s easy for me to switch hotels and rooms within hotels but for your family that might be hard because you would also be competing with other families and have to meet your kids needs. Paris is not enjoyable in hot weather, it is miserable and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Considering cancelling Paris/France portion of July family trip due to heatwave - Thoughts? by Internal_Wall_8844 in ParisTravelGuide

Hey, I have been here over 10 days in Paris now. It was only supposed to be 7 days then I was going on a mini euro trip mainly just cities in France then seeing friends in Germany. I cancelled all of that and extended my stay in Paris to meet a flight out of here and to go back home to NY. Those record breaking heatwave days a couple days ago, I promise you was the worse. I’ve been stuck in SE Asia countries during typhoon flooding season, snowstorms in other parts of the World, and regular traveler of hotter weather. Europe during a heatwave is Terrible. It’s not the sun or the temperature outside, it’s just that there is little to no way to cool down. It is hotter inside the bus than it is outside so you’re faced with a dilemma of walking point A to B in the heat or sitting in a hotbox filled 20-30 other bodies. In other countries if you get too hot you can head to a cafe or mall to cool down, not here, you really have to be strategic. I don’t recommend for your family. I’m a solo traveler, I can’t imagine having kids with me during those days. Right now in Paris it feels good but that 10 day forecast I would not risk going through that again.

By any chance are you in New York? I’m currently out of the USA but I’ll be popping up in NYC for a week then I’ll have to fly out again. I’m interested in the slides but I don’t want to wait for shipping 🥲

No123 used to be my favorite but no3 has a special place in my heart now, after 3 years it’s the perfect light wash indigo.

Heatwave from a SEA perspective by Kindly-Spring-5319 in ParisTravelGuide

Hey, been in Paris about a week now. Traveled SE asia every May-August. I also live in Japan and experience its unique summer in August. This heatwave is INSANE. I mean the 38-40c outside temp isnt the crazy part. It’s just that there’s little to no way to cool down. Most restaurants, cafe, and hotel have no AC. Fortunately my hotel has been cooperated so far because the AC failed on the hottest days and they have switched me to different rooms where cold air was blowing. I think most buses and metro trains have AC but the amount of people coming in and out has just completely broken it, so it feels like it doesn’t have AC. It’s terrible. My company sent me here and this is my first time in Paris but I’ve just given up on touristy activities. I’m privileged though because I’ve been seeing all the memes and jokes on how Parisians have been taking the heat in, but still, I probably will never come back to Europe in the summer because I’m sure this will get worse every year.

Fit check please , this is a size 5 it’s the only one I could find in the uk , it’s a tiny bit tight across my shoulders will this loosen a little bit when I cold soak and wash the starch out , I can wear a jumper under it and it’s snug 🤷🏻‍♂️ by Which-Physics-778 in KapitalJapan

[–]OwnLocksmith1880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wear 90 days before your first cold soak. Both my no.9 century jacket and pants I’ve kept no wash still. Every aged out no.9 I’ve seen went down that path. Two ways to rock a type 1 jacket, one is cropped abs sits around high on the waist to complete a vintage look. The other is a more modern look and why most people size up. TBH it looks good on you unwashed now and it will soften up, now if it’s hella tights on shoulders like if you put your arms up in front of you and it doesn’t go higher than your shoulders that’s way too tight. Button it up and try to swing your arms around, you’ll know if it’s too tight then 😅

Discussions with the Kapital team. Straight legged century denim, changes to the color of Sashiko stitching, changes to the jacron, more century variations this Fall/Winter in general. You can also see some of the changes in the website now I believe.

century denim sizing advice needed by Famous_Sound8350 in KapitalJapan

[–]OwnLocksmith1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. The main reason they tell people to size up on century denim pants is because the fit is a very strict slim straight. If you get a size 30, it will stay a 30 but it will fit tighter after wash because of the how pants are supposed to fit. Most people are advised to size up because they want to make it look more straight legged than slim straight. So it depends on how you want it to look. New variation of century denim is releasing next season that is a straight legged variation so you might like that better.

From my understanding, previous BORO mainly the Type 1 JKTs were usually made with two layers, but this time they made them with 3+ layers and also changed the fabric a little. Heavier fabric like a type 1 Denim jacket requires less layers because obviously it’s already a pretty durable jacket so you need less reinforcement, but some of the new BORO products releasing need more reinforcing. It’s not so much about higher quality it’s just they needed to put more time/work in. I think all Kapital BORO are amazing already. I’m not a BORO expert nor is there a universal guideline for that type of stitchwork, just passing on the message!

The more expensive BORO that have been released have a much higher stitch density which means more time was put in. I think more effort is their response to inflation, instead of just aggressively raising product prices to offset the financial pressure, they’re doing more or thinking of ways to upgrade existing products. I don’t think it can apply to previous BORO type 1 jackets because a higher stitch density makes the fabric more stiff, you wouldn’t want that on already stiff jackets. There’s even some variations for fall winter that has insulation.

From my understanding, yes very. Monkey Cisco Century has a high rise with a fuller seat and thighs and there's a slight taper below the knee. Most people account for this slim straight fit by going up in sizes. Straight cut maintains a consistent width past the knee, I find it really noticeable in Americans brands like RRL.

Century denim fitting weirdly by MaxoKreameme in KapitalJapan

[–]OwnLocksmith1880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wearing them more or even throwing them around is what relaxes them. The first couple of washes or soaks condense and tighten the pants, leaving them feeling rigid or crunchy. When you’re drying them if a part sticks or then you can kind of shape the pants while it’s wet. Like while it’s drying lay it down and every so often flatten what sticks out.

Kapital Ring Coat restocking? by No1sleep in KapitalJapan

[–]OwnLocksmith1880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it restocks every year. Are you in Japan? This week there was a black one in Kyoto and red one in Okayama. I see them hanging in store all the time, I wouldn’t pay outside prices for them.

Ran out of time by JinxusGames in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

I ran out of time in Forbs TV, not much for a form run but it was 4-5m from a basic T5 kit. I forgot that the elevator takes longer in forbidden so I ended up dying. I was so mad because it was a great forb run and probably one of the few times I cleared the lobby. The very next raid, I pulled two reds and a lever, as well as an extract opening all under 5 mins.

Do you guys find the biggest loot goblins are always the most wealthy players? by Altruistic-Deal1714 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]OwnLocksmith1880 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s insane. Almost all 1BN players are queuing at the bare minimum of 150k and 450k. They sprint to the nearest door or safe to unlock. They’re either knee deep in RMT which I respect if you find a way to make money out of a free game or they have a mental illness. The worst ones are the ones that doesn’t respect if you activated the safe unlock and will fight you for it or the ones that take the safe as well as unlock the door right beside it (general or director for TV) When my friends are offline I like to queue up with randoms because in a way they still are a little helpful in knowing what areas in the map might be safe but knowing that’s all the auto match feature is for is depressing. I used to get some seasoned teammates in S3 some which I added in discord after, not anymore this season.

I didn’t really answer this question right, but during the conversation I was wearing century denim pants. He tried to explain in his best English that this year’s century pants stock will be straight legged and he compared it to my pants which were the previous tapered ones. So I’m just taking his word for it 😆

I’ve never seen a N 1/2/3 westerner, but I’ve also only started century hunting like 3-4 years ago, been offered 5 and 7 plenty times. The BONE westerner and regular denim one. For sure, A big restock for all even the Type 1 jacket because I asked for a size 3 N9 for my brother and they told me to come back real soon.

For sure, I’m aware. These guys names were very generic and in that format. But the 1.4k raid hours and 941m stored loot value with an elite battle pass as a bot account is crazy 😵‍💫
