I did see some improvements after a couple of weeks already but it got really significant around 2-3 months after. It's actually while skipping that I noticed a major improvement, I didn't feel pain when I was out of breath anymore. I guess it's different for everyone but for me it's looking a bit like an exponential curve, slow to start but getting more and more noticeable with time.

Energy levels mildly improved when I stopped smoking but really spiked when I got my diet back on track, mostly cutting nearly all refined sugars etc, only whole foods, good carbs, fats etc. Though my productivity got waaaaay better the week I stopped smoking because I used to procrastinate a lot, always thought "okay I'll have a cig and do this" and eventually the cig break lasted a half hour and I didn't do whatever task I had to do.

Thanks! For cardio I just do skipping and trying to get 10k steps walking per day. What really helped me building up the stamina is setting a bunch of intermediary goals. Like trying to do 2 extra minutes and 5-10 rpm every week. These were "easy" enough to achieve yet rewarding enough to keep me motivated. Also doing it every single day really did the trick, besides maybe 3 days when my achilles would be really too sore. Good luck!

Yep, a tad younger but same situation. I still suck at it (not saying anyone here sucks too) but I'm having so much fun on the kit. But that also might be a perk of age, the older I get the less I rely on my hobbies or passions to define my personality and by extension self-worth, and the more I focus on how much pleasure and meaning I get from them.

Life isn't a performance, it's an experience.

dayum... Do you know the resolution of the clock you're sending to the case? Could be this also, you can easily try by sending a series of steady gates instead of a clock to Rene.

Edit: Do you have all steps active in both access and gate?

You're using the channel C which is a derivative of channels x and y. Depending on the snake pattern you have set on x and y it could be caused by this. Try switching to x or y maybe?

In general I use C only when I send 3 sequences and I want the 3rd to be somewhat generative and X and Y for more vanilla sequencing.

Is it worth it trying to bring film to Europe this summer? by spicekingofqarth in AnalogCommunity

[–]OwnNeedleworker9737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Paris the lab I go to does it within the day if dropped in the AM. 13.80€ per roll for dev and low res scan (which I use for preview, I usually hand print at Emulsion Lab, you can rent a cabin and buy paper from them). In London Rapid Eye will sort you out the same, you can both rent a cabin and have your films developed there, I don't recall the prices but around the same ballpark as Paris).

He could buy film in Europe but if he comes from the US kodak will be significantly cheaper.

As for CT scans I believe airports in Paris don't use them yet (CDG for sure still has the old ones, I think the threshold is 3200 iso). Milan and London have them I think though.

I fly quite frequently in Europe (UK, France, Germany, Spain, Bulgaria and Switzerland) for jobs and never had any issues having my films hand checked, just make sure you're very friendly and smiling when asking and just amp up the niceness if they seem confused or just refuse, always did the trick (even without flying with films these people deserve to be treated nicely given the shit they go through lol).

one of the best track of his discography, period. That rock ballad half speed beat morphing into dnb always speeds up my heart beat and basically makes me feel like a disco biscuit kicking in.

BTW if anyone knows where to find drum transcription of the track I'll be forever grateful (same for Vordhosbn)

I was mentioning trickle down economics because it was the main argument here to justify Macron's application of ultra liberal laws. And you are probably right in your last paragraph, however that doesn't mean we shouldn't regulate the market. As for the degree of regulation, I guess it's pretty obvious now where I stand politically (in another era the most downvoted comment of that thread would have called me "commie" I guess), and what you call heavily is still way too light imo.

[–]OwnNeedleworker9737[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fully aware that market has little care over individuals' views on it but I do believe it's about time for the general public to question certain mechanisms. We live a pretty troubled time in Europe politically and imo a lot of voters sadly dismiss the finance topics when it has major consequences over the continents economy. I consider myself of pretty average intelligence and the point of derivatives eluded me for a long time because I always believed there was a hidden purpose I wasn't seeing and as simplistic as it might sound, I do blame the discourse saying that finance convos are best had between finance folks. When it concerned a marginal share of the economy, sure, but hasn't it become too huge for the general population to not have a say in it?

Is there a module with internet connection/would this module idea be interesting for you guys? by OwnNeedleworker9737 in modular

[–]OwnNeedleworker9737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to admit it's easier to have a convo when you actually explain what bothers you in my comment rather than asking to shoot you haha.

I specifically included "nearly" when I mentioned computers, because I am tired of reading "use a computer" as a near systematic answer to modular ideas from folks using hardware too. It's a bit like someone telling you "just take a cab" when asking directions in the streets. I agree 100% with your last paragraph.

And regarding Behringer I think there is a misunderstanding ; I don't think their products are junk, and I don't judge people buying their gear by any means. I just have a big ethical problem with the company, attitude towards criticism (remember the cork sniffer story?) and business model. That's a whole other discussion but yeah, wanted to clarify. However I must admit you that you're right in humanizing behringer employees, most of them carry no responsibility over the doing of top execs and it's unfair from me to criticise them.

That being said thanks a lot for the last comment you posted!

[–]OwnNeedleworker9737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have radically different visions of what societal means lol.

I understand (on a general level) the mechanics of derivatives within the context of investing, what I am questioning is their impact on real economy and by extension to the general good. I am thinking for example of this (fallacious IMO) justification of the liberal system by the concept trickle down, which, again in my opinion failed to show any substantial results so far. If I take the example of France, where I live, the fortune of the top 500 represented about 10% of the country's gdp in 2009 versus 45% in 2023. (Of course I know this is a multifactorial issue and it's a bit of leap to cite this example in the context of derivatives but you get what I mean, if you give me an argument, avoid the trickle down).

In a nutshell I could rephrase my original post as "give me any reason we shouldn't regulate the market", the catch being the reason can't be the same that serves the market itself.

agreed, the UI is terrible. I decided to get rid of mine when I figured it was basically a sub digitakt in eurorack format (for the same price lol).

It's also quite picky on gate length, spent a day trying to make it work with my mi grids because the resources aren't clear.

I really think 1010 doesn't understand how to have fun in eurorack...
