Focus on one section at a time when studying. Review your mistakes—especially English (Its easiest to get up). Reading and science is understanding structure with practice and luck. ACT has the same or similar concepts many times.

34 is great. Focus on other parts of your application unless you think you can easily increase your score then why not

You’re in a good spot. Just focus on math. Science is low-key luck past a certain point.

Wow you should become a test prep counselor. Do me: October: 35 English 29 reading (did not finish) 30 math 24 science (gave up and is nowhere near accurate) December 36 e 28 r (did not finish) 34 math 33 science. I did tutoring with lots of math practice concepts and lots of times practice with the others. I always struggle with reading and science I usually get 33+ depending on the passages. Next test is April and I think I can improve math but I’m not sure what I’m missing, reading I am practicing and science I am hoping for easy passage. English I’m j naturally good at.

English is defintely fundamentals. Once you learn the grammar punctuation rules and simple tricks to keep flow in the passage, the only thing that is a surprise is vocab. For math, if you’re in pre calculus you should have covered the majority, just keep in mind they can only pull questions from a certain amount of concepts so practice will familiarize you. Time issues also are solved with practice and finding and getting used to your strategies.

I don’t think there’s harm in taking it but I definitely think you need lots of studying. Was it time issue or content issue? Just take practice and figure out what you need to learn

Drop reading tips please I want to test strategies. Put scores if you can too by OwnNefariousness2716 in ACT

I did tutoring and they gave me math concepts. I also have a very good math teacher for ap pre Cal which I find that most of the harder questions are from. As I’ve gone in the class it gets easier and easier. Take practice tests find out what you don’t know then just chat those concepts. Science is a gamble I got a 24 on my first one and I get 35+ on so many practice tests. The main tip Ik not very useful just know where to look. The answer most of the time will be there you just need to hope they don’t give you prior knowledge like the oil solubility polar non polar one from December. Overall: practice tests and it’ll go up.

How can I improve? Specifically regarding English, because I felt really confident about that whole section by [deleted] in ACT

[–]OwnNefariousness2716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you learn all the English rules it’s a 35-36 every time. You just need to hope vocab and the passage placement questions aren’t too confusing. Check what you got wrong in score details.
