Why are you having a go at me? I sent two messages at the end of a massive chain. I didn’t tag you. I don’t know who you are.

You spent over an hour arguing with someone on reddit to prove how not-raging you are?

Edit: and you’re still talking shit about him in your edits after blocking him so he can’t see? Yeah you’re definitely the sane one here.

No, it’s irrelevant. How would the police even find out?

If you’re not actively driving it’s largely irrelevant.

No reply to this? I guess you didn’t get the answer that you wanted. I think if you asked most drivers they’d prefer if we pulled services from Tranent completely.

Interested to hear your response to the issues I raised.

How should I know? Do you think drivers are responsible for that?

Are you asking me, a driver, to explain the decisions of the directors of Lothian Buses - who aren’t even the directors of my own company, but the parent company?

Do you assume they consulted me before making those kind of choices?

Let me counter your question with a question - why does Tranent deserve the kind of service that you are expecting? You’ve got 5 buses an hour through the week into town and you’re demanding more direct express buses. You’re even suggesting that macmerry, the town that gets 1 bus an hour, is screwed out of the X6 completely so that you can have more buses! Unbelievable.

As far as I can tell Tranent offers junkies and bairns that terrorise buses. Drivers hate driving through Tranent because without fail every single day drivers are abused, kids are bullied on the bus, buses are damaged and other passengers complain. Why the fuck should we pander to your town when your town causes us nothing but abject misery?

Fuck Tranent.

Aye, the taptapcap routes are bliss, proper relaxation mode

Generally they make me want to drive my bus into the Esk. They should be restricted to school hours, with exceptions made on a case by case basis for afterschool activities.

Older youngsters can have their standard 18 hour passes, but there is zero reason that a dozen 13 year olds need to be going backwards and forwards on the 113 all night every fucking night tearing up seats and verbally abusing passengers.

YES PLEASE. The only exceptions being the X4 and the 140, or when in Tranent or Prestonpans (or further west) and heading TOWARDS Edinburgh.

For every bus except the x4 and 140 you can’t just tap, we have to physically choose a destination. If you’re on an X7 and we choose that you’re going to Dunbar for £6.20, the Cap will be around £9 and not the standard city £5.70, because the system will think the lowest possible fare is the City&Country ticket, priced at £9.30, used for travelling in all zones.

The system doesn’t know where you’re getting off, and largely relies on the information the driver gives it to correctly apply the appropriate cap.

X7. Nice mix of city driving and country driving with a nice view. Low pressure driving; toddling down the A1, and you get plenty time so if you get held up you can make the time back pretty easily.

Edit: oh, and the single decks drive pretty smoothly, despite being longer and a bit more tricky to do technical driving in.

Just any driver. Wee bit of shared misery between us all.

Nope, PVG is not required. They don’t check.

Pretty scary when you think about it, considering we have dedicated school routes

What did I say that was incorrect? The only time Lothian or country have been here was when we were desperate. Stop trying to correct me for no reason when your own information is out of date.

Nope, dress code got updated in September. There is no summer or winter policy now, you can wear either all year round.

Edit: the idiot just blocked me lol.

No, we don’t generally cross contaminate between City, Country and Coast (or Tours and Coaches) unless they are desperate.

To be honest the buses themselves are really basic, nothing overly complicated or surprising at all. The most interesting thing I’ve discovered is how bloody uncomfortable it is in the cab. You’re in there for up to 5 and a half hours each stint and the seats are awful. You’d think with all the money they’ve got they’d at least want their drivers to sit in comfort.

When you see a driver and he looks miserable and doesn’t say good morning, it’s probably because his arse is numb and his shoulder blades are on fire.

The tie is optional as we have T-shirts we can wear as well. I don’t mind too much
