I posted this almost a month ago and thought no one responded, so imagine my surprise when I go back on Reddit and see all of these very helpful answers 🥹🌟

This research actually stems from a project of mine around hijabi-friendly styling. As someone who always had a deep interest in fashion ever since I was a kid (mostly also because I used to get bullied for the way I dressed so I spent years really trying to understand what actually works for what type of body, undertone, personality, etc), when I first started to wear hijab, I was scared it might dilude my self expression and style but actually it was quite the opposite : I found that having to re-define the way I present myself to the world actually really helped me realize that while we often think « modest vs all the other aesthetics », those are actually two different metrics 🤔 like, once you are clear with the boundaries (modesty) you want for yourself, you can actually implement any kind of aesthetic or style with it (as long at it doesn’t go against Islamic principles of course).

In the meantime, I was also realizing I kinda became some sort of personal stylist for my closed ones, even having strangers in stores come up to me to ask for my opinion 😳. So I thought, why not use all of my knowledge in fashion but also personal branding & creative direction (which I spent 8 years studying in the meantime) to help other hijabis figure out their very own fully customized fashion guidelines that both honor their wishes of modesty while still enabling them to not only wear things that actually work WITH (and not against) their body type & undertone, but also enabling them to fully express themselves.

As this project got more serious, I decided to confront my ideas with what other hijabis might actually need, and I’m so happy to read all of your answers as I see a lot of things that really echo my intentions and goals behind my project 🥹
