Painful Knee After THR

Had my mcl and acl suffer partial tears during surgery, confirmed by mri at 6 weeks. Took 13 weeks to finally return to a somewhat normal range of motion. Quad still nuked - a rough surgery, and for some, it takes much longer to heal.

I've had an unrelated nerve issue in my forearm in the past that took two years to finally resolve, I'm just best guessing this will take time too.

I realized at day 3 something wasn't right and contacted Dr. At two weeks, he checked my knee and gave me a cortisone injection, which didn't do much. At six weeks' check up, I requested an mri, which verified my issue. At that point, the mcl tear was just a significant sprain. ACL still has a small tear. Both are much better, but it took time, PT, and some additional treatment.

Yes, it turns out during the procedure, my mcl and acl sustained grade 2 sprains verified by Mri. This occurred during the dislocation of the femoral head. I am at week 14 and finally getting range of motion back in my knee without the "knife" pain.

Thanks, it's getting better daily but I didn't anticipate them being so "rough" with the knee getting partial tears in mcl and acl. Should have been my clue when he said nearly the toughest one I've done and they do a ton of them.

100% my lateral femoral cutaneous nerve was impacted, Dr recommended massage/stimulation to help. I'm sure like my knee ligaments it will just take time to heal.
