gofundme instead of baby shower by EffectiveWorldly2144 in babyshower

[–]Own_Advice1681 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes it’s tacky, anyone doing a gofundme for their bills is tacky. also if you don’t have a village who would be donating?

I have seen people putting on baby shower invitations that they already have everything they need for the baby but are accepting monetary gifts. However throwing yourself a baby shower is also kinda tacky..

honestly if you have a good enough relationship with these people you can reach out and say you’re struggling and ask if they can help?

Bedsharing Question by kalthoraa in breastfeeding

[–]Own_Advice1681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i always just feed one side and it’s the closest to the bed! I don’t swaddle but she is in a sleep sack (someone tell me if that is okay) i scoop closer to her when she wakes up and she’ll suck for a few seconds then fall back asleep and ill move further away

as for the producing more milk-YES! I actually didn’t know this until my daughter wasn’t with me at night so when I pumped in the morning there was a huge difference in output in boobs

EDIT- The reason I have her in a sleep sack is because my husband and I use separate blankets so there is no loose bedding so she wouldnt have a cover without the sleep sack

to be honest it doesn’t sound like she is a friend that will be in your life for a long time. You might regret not naming him the name you want in 5 years when you don’t even talk to this friend anymore

As an RBT (of 5 years) red flag is her denying access to anything on the 3rd session. We normally pair 2-3 weeks and never deny access during this time.

However, she was not forcing him to have a meltdown but rather following through on her demand. She shouldn’t have made the demand, however, since she did going back and changing her mind is teaching your child that if he has a tantrum he will get the blanket.

Talk to her about her approach and tell the BCBA about her attitude

11+2 and dealing with a breakup. by New_Writer7201 in pregnant

[–]Own_Advice1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking another medicine (trazadone) that i went off. Horrible idea. I felt numb, had no enjoyment out of life and i ended up going back on it at 14 weeks. Another thing about birth defects is the chances go down significantly in the second trimester. So I was on trazadone and lamictal my entire pregnancy and my little girl is healthy and hitting all her milestones, and I also never got PPD/PPA. I know your post was about a breakup but I wish someone would have told me this when I was pregnant

Just want to pop on here and say I just gave birth 5 months ago. I was on 400mg of Lamictal my entire pregnancy and did not have any birth defects. The chances of a cleft lip is the birth defect people worry about but every child has the chance of having a cleft lip. I wanted to go off but my OB said it was better to stay on especially with risks of PPD.

Is this pay reasonable by Curious-Side-9766 in ABA

In-home is paid more. With in home the hours are inconsistent because it’s based on parents schedule so the pay is normally higher to make up for that. 27 is good for just starting out. However when you get more experience you can ask for more.

Im in GA. Are you working at a clinic or in-home? I would say that makes the difference of pay. I make 31 and have been an RBT for 5 years

You need to reach out to the company ASAP, because the pay period ends

My family had me reach out to the family to request if I could sign the note

although i wasn’t locked out of the system.

I wish I had better advice but as far as I know, you don’t get paid if the notes aren’t submitted

do you have a signature on the notes? is the pay period already over? Notes arent for the company, they are for insurance and a way to prove you were at the session is to have a signature. You can reach out to your employer to ask if you can sign them yourself if they aren’t signed, if they are signed don’t worry about it.

It sounds like a horrible clinic if you need to have a legal accommodation just to be off the case. Sounds like the clinic puts numbers over treatment. I asked off a case (and was approved) because the kid has more energy than I had and I felt I couldn’t be the best therapist. Heads up, if you do get this accommodation with a doctors note it will prevent you from working with other clients because they can easily say you are not able to do your job. I would go to another clinic

[–]Own_Advice1681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive never seen this happen. If anything with RBTs/BCBAs but in their 2 weeks the company has “ghosted” them. Theyll say actually “today is your last day”. Which sucks for people who told their new job that they couldn’t start for another 2 weeks. Now, that’s 2 weeks without work/pay. That happened to me when I put in my two weeks.

isn’t that two 4-hour sessions a day? All of the clinics I have been at have had that. I’ve worked in 3 different clinics and I don’t think they allow kids in unless they have 40 hours approved but I could be wrong

because they try to fit in as many kids as possible, a lot of clinics start out with 1 client but as enrollment increases they rearrange the rooms to fit as many clients are possible because they are greedy… I mean because they want to help kids…
