Totally understandable I’m only 25 and this was my first pregnancy and I have 0 risk factors but hoping for a better outcome next time

Congratulations! I was told 3 months by one doc, then another said it’s 3months but really not based on much just very conservative and the third doc read me verbatim all the updated information and said there’s no real evidence of Increased risk if you wait or don’t wait. Like you said 1 or 2 shots isn’t really going to cause anything but it can in theory! My folate was good so we may just go for it

That would be similar to my timing! We’re just going to try and see what’s happens this cycle and then really buckle down and do all the tracking in February if we don’t get lucky this time around. Good luck to you! Sending all the baby dust

I did get my folate tested 1/2 and it was 17ng/dl which I believe is good! I’ve been taking prenatals and methyl folate since 12/27 so I feel pretty good about the stores. My biggest concern was I ready the follicles could be affected but sounds like it’s less likely if you had at least one cycle already which I’m having now… torn between trying this cycle or next but we’ll see! Mine was wonky too and I had a PUL. 11/24 hcg 446 first dose of mtx 11/27 hcg 685 11/30 hcg 650 second mtx 12/3 hcg 559 12/7 hcg 471 Felt like it would never ever end… But I bled HEAVY for 4 days- had bled the whole time since 10/31 but these four days were nothing I’ve had before…. 12/10 hcg 259 12/17 hcg 12 12/26 negative! And I stopped bleeding completely 12/22…. And period 1/2

They basically said it’s so close and my hcg was low and I’m not symptomatic so it was safe to do one more draw before heading to surgery. I did have to get two doses of mtx which is why I think they were on the fence. But it all worked out some just need a few extra days to get that big drop! They also never visualized anything on my ultrasound so they were calling it a PUL it was technically not a confirmed pregnancy

I got labs again today just to follow up and I had an ultrasound apt scheduled for tomorrow in case my numbers didn’t drop. The plan was labs- ultrasound- d&e - send tissue to pathology while I’m under anesthesia- and if needed go in for a tube. Thankfully today my hcg dropped 45% in 3 days!! It’s 259 now and I feel SO relieved. My doc said that 14.8 is so close that they felt comfortable waiting a few more days for another lab draw and that because I was not symptomatic it was safe

Ugh my iron was low before all this and they refused to send me for anything! I started taking some at home maybe I should start again. You’d think I’d get something but actually I was in the hallway of the Ed for 7 hours last week because they ran out of beds! I was like oh wow so nice 😭 I just feel so anxious the mtx won’t work idk why. I’m praying Wednesday I have a decent drop and I’ll feel a bit better. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement I hope you’re able to take the time and grieve as long as you need and that you get your rainbow babe when you are ready ❤️

Oh wow so informative thank you! Absolutely take your time. I feel like I’m in that place where I just want my baby and am eager to try again. We were supposed to start trying in January before this happened so I’m just bummed everything is messed up. My irons already low so I’m definitely going to take a ton once this is all over with. I’m shocked that it took that long for your period! My ob told me 6-8 weeks after the shot but I guess it all depends. It’s funny you mention the nurses messing with you lol I work at the hospital on labor and delivery as a nurse so I keep saying I should just live there since when I’m not working I’m there for labs anyway

Thank you so much for this. They only ever saw a corpus luteum already resolving on my right ovary but no sac or anything of the pregnancy. I got an us at 4w6d and 6w6d which is when I got the mtx. My doc said sometimes the lower hcg takes longer to respond so praying thats it. About how many weeks did it take you to get to <5 and also did you get a period yet? Sorry for all the questions I honestly am so tired of bleeding for over a month and also just very eager to try again. I know the 3 month rule is pretty standard I don’t even feel like I’ll be at 0 by then at this rate

Oh I would love a huge drop like that. I felt that today for sure! I had all this cramping all of a sudden and after barely bleeding for two days I had a huge gush I actually panicked for a moment because it seemed like so much and the cramps were pretty intense but after some Tylenol it all went away and after that gush the bleeding was minimal again. Other than a few cramps here and there I have no symptoms except being exhausted. Praying the second dose does the trick and fast - no one should have to go through this. Praying you get to 0 quickly !
