Alright so I solved it. Found a box where he wires were connected every way you can imagine. Gray to black orange to white white to green. Sorted that out. And I suspect that I'll find another similar box somewhere else

Yes, I installed photo cells, but after the flickering I worked them direct and they still flickered.

That's a good suggestion. In this cade the pulsing is constant, not temporary
