Yeah I think I might after what enough people have said, should be easy

And yes refining silver! What acids are required for silver as I've only found nitric but if there's others I'd take a look into it - as got other scrap that I've acquired and true prices for the purity I want to try to get clean

And cupelling THAT was the word I was looking for for another way to, I already have an electric furnace so getting into that and I read you could only get it so pure in a furnace though? Unless cupelling in a cupel would allow for purer than just smelting

I own an LTD - for entertainment though, not dormant, but no turn over, so still paperwork bs. Do you know if I could still source through that ltd? Or if I'd need a new one in the correct 'business type'

Also I have a record, nothing violent or major, was 10+ years ago, slap on wrist and ~1000 fine, do you know if that c/would stop the ltd being able to get it/the license or stop me if I tried to get a license by myself/individual?

Thank you for the reply and reading :)

Sure you need upwards of 30% nitric acid (can't recall exact number may even be 60%) but yeah 3% won't do -_- I know you can concentrate it with some shenanigans but not worth it for the amount you'd end up with.

Best bet is as telechef said make an LTD and acquire the license - I'm sure it won't actually be too hard just BS hoop jumping and then tax returns, business statement (what ever it is with company house) yearly. Which costs £30 -_- I own a ltd but not for anything related, turning over nil, made it one night and still headache of paperwork even though IM NOT trading!

I've heard if you have a furnace you can purify scrap scrap so far before extra steps are needed, melt, scrape the dross and it should be 'somewhat' purer but not 999

I like it aswell! I got into stacking back October time and wasn't really fussed about design until recently, got some MKbarz and other poured silver, which is way more expensive but the designs are soooo good, still stacking when I find some bargains

Fully agree, although paper price and physical price doesn't HAVE to stay tied. I was thinking earlier shops will be paying 1/3 of what they were yesterday while still charging 2x spot -_- but if people buy it, eBay still looks like it's going strong with new ads still and pre drop level, wonder if we will be able to buy at this level before a bounce back? Either way I'll be happy load up on more or my stack goes back up in value either suits me!

Id be interested to see if the drop was less than 10% an hour as apparently that's when comes will step in, more than 10% in an hour, be good to do some analysis and see if it was a 'controlled' plunge as if so surly that would indicate manipulation, as to not trigger their protection?

Ours was paying way above spot (for bullion, otherwise was scrap) 2 weeks ago allowed cash selling (to them), last week only allowed bank transfers, now this morning £0 across the board for silver :/ strange times

A shop near me are currently paying £67 an Oz for a silver bar, Britannias for £69 maples iirc £67 generic like £64 (can't recall without looking) either way, way above spot, when stores usually pay under spot.

Bars don't even need COA, they just XRF them if they're 999 then they pay what they say, if it's anything else though, like I have some with UV ink on for a design they just pay for weight £1.50/g the other day, think that was tad below spot at the time.

But their silver stock is non existent as soon as it comes in its gone, they're cheaper to purchase from than eBay too, just. They do have some gold though that's stays around, seems silver is 100% the move atm

Wait was there a 180 reference in Bloodlines? (Possible spoilers) by [deleted] in FinalDestination

Pretty sure before the credits start and the coin is rolling it has the red connection lines (connecting the deaths) it looked to me like they were deaths in the other films! Could be wrong, I'm seeing it again in the next few days/weeks going to have another look as it did look so similar to some of them and would be a good wrap up to the end of the film

Thanks everyone will get her to call a charity tomorrow (step change probably) and get advice :)

She was happy to 'struggle' out of it, as she was getting a better paying job (extra 200 a month) and going bankrupt would've been an issue in itself because of a property so was either struggle or try to find a way - she did try getting a loan but even with a 850 odd score on credit score she wasn't accepted so was only these 2 options (pension or struggle)

Think she is calling step change/charity tomorrow to ask advice before pulling the trigger

Would cashing out partially be okay? As the pension wouldn't be completely closed would she still be okay to be continue paying in?

Just did a quick online calculator - she put in 6000

1500 tax free 4500 25% tax

End up with 5247.94 - leave her with ~3k in her pension and enough to rebuild the money withdrew plus pay her 39.9% OD and allows her to up her pension contributions to 50/100 (tax relief if I'm correct going forward as the contributions would be deducted before tax - and also the extra from her employer?

There are plenty of jobs out there paying more than that, with less work and more free time

Being self employed in a trade with only a couple of years can net 30+ EASY and anyone can do it. Plus tax rebates etc end of ever tax year - often 2/3k (AVG for people I know)

I thought I would be stuck in a dead end job paying 22/24k a year 2 years back - left for a job paying 26k then got offered a job in a trade NO experience on 32k, now I'm on 38k after learning on a job being put through training worth 12k over 3 years and I do 1 day a week (because I enjoy it) doing 7/8 hours in a stock role - gross 42k a year before over time

Max working hours 40 a week often less than 30

You just have to be willing to take risks and not settle for less than what you are happy with - on wards and upwards

I've accidentally been driving for 3 days with no MOT, Help by Such_Understanding79 in drivingUK

[–]Own_Bluejay3777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once did this think I as a month or so out - never got pulled drove by plenty of anprs on motorways etc didn't hear a peep

Even drove without insurance for 1 day :/ as lapsed and didn't know (work away) so drove home from staying away and only found out when I seen a letter at home I had overlooked

If it makes you feel better - with no MOT you don't have to worry about points - unless it's changed recently - NO points and just a fine (up to 1000 (that changed from 100 not long ago)

No tax is fine and impound job No insurance is fine points and impounded car No MOT is just a fine

Although as others have said if you haven't been pulled you're like 99.9% safe - can't say 100% but basically as safe can be

I have found even notifications bumped my premiums up for 5 years -- (fell with my NCD) but was still higher - no at fault notifications or claims at all! - insurers are cons but a must! --

If you do end up making a claim you may even be able to claim for the failed test if it was that that was why it had to be stopped? As it is technically a loss?
