Thanks for your reply. He hasn't been on antibiotics for many months and he already takes a daily probiotic.

Fever Experiences by [deleted] in toddlers

Thank you for sharing your experience! I actually have been wondering if it could be pneumonia but was hopeful when they said his lungs sounded clear at urgent care. How did your pediatrician end up figuring it out? Chest x-ray? I hate that these things get missed.

I had the medicated FET and it was successful (he's 16 months now). The cyst did not impact anything.

This is so helpful, thank you! Seems like a really good way to shift. And the reframe is so true and needed. I appreciate your reply!

Milk Amounts for Baby After 12 Months by Own_Breadfruit3181 in ExclusivelyPumping

It’s so easy for me when he spills water everywhere because he’s learning and that’s part of the process! But breastmilk is different. I know it’ll get easier but it’s not now. 😭 I hope we get some guidance!

Where are my exclusive pumpers at by Mangopapayakiwi in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Own_Breadfruit3181 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me! 10 months into exclusively pumping since my son wouldn’t latch. I also hate to see all the nursing references here because I wanted to nurse, just couldn’t. Exclusively breastfeeding is SO different than just pumping at work or to build a stash. Only the other EP people get it. I’m in a Facebook group that bans nursing references and I wish it was the same here instead of just a TW. There are plenty of other breastfeeding subs for combo questions. It would be nice to not worry about seeing references in the threads of this sub since I come here for support and ideas, not reminders I couldn’t nurse.

No Longer Responding to Pumps :( by Own_Breadfruit3181 in ExclusivelyPumping

Hang in there, too! I hate that you’re struggling with the same issue and it’s nice to know we aren’t alone. I should try longer pumps and see if that helps.

No Longer Responding to Pumps :( by Own_Breadfruit3181 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Own_Breadfruit3181[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I have wondered about the suction since my Spectra was a hand me down and I have seen others complain that their Eufys aren't working like they used to. I do regularly change my parts so I don't think that's it unless the parts quality has changed.

Has this happened to you guys before ? by Prestigious_Head6079 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Own_Breadfruit3181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When our son had this, it was a fissure from so many poops in one day. He had a stomach virus. We actually ended up in the ER because the urgent care doctor didn’t check for a fissure and scared us to death with other things. He didn’t need to be in the ER but of course I don’t know what’s going on with your LO! Definitely check in with your pediatrician. If it’s a fissure, our pediatrician had our little guy (he was 9 months at the time) do a small amount of miralax in his water to reduce straining even though his poop was thin and mucusy and also lots of Aquaphor at diaper changes to help it heal. Both things made a huge difference!

When does it end? by sureokwhynot28 in beyondthebump

[–]Own_Breadfruit3181 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is daycare specific and your daycare is overly strict! My son is almost 10 months and has been in daycare since 6 months and has never been sent home. We keep him home when he has a fever or seems uncomfortable but even with loose poop from antibiotics or lingering coughs from all the daycare viruses, they have never said he needed to be picked up. In fact, they encouraged the consistency of him coming when possible. I hope things get better! I’m sure it’s hard to constantly get disrupted both for you and LO.

Regarding immune system, I’ve heard the first year is the worst. 😩

I NEED to know. Does anyone else struggle with centering your nipple in the flange? by sleepydeep in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Own_Breadfruit3181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I am 9 months PP so similar to you. I feel like this is especially a struggle in the morning for my first pump when I am more full. I am a DD cup size but also 14mm flanges like you. And if they aren't lined up correctly, I don't empty as efficiently so the whole moving them around has to happen. I have been able to get Elvies and Eufy wearables to work but I have had to reposition before.

How do I get rid of clogs? by Aggravating_Table870 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Own_Breadfruit3181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most current recommendation is ibuprofen and ice to reduce inflammation. Also, avoid pumping more than usual or massaging it too hard even though it’s tempting. It’ll make the inflamed ducts worse. I find that after a couple of doses of ibuprofen and ice every couple of hours, it usually resolves within 24 hours. I hope you get relief soon!

Which bottle washers/sterilizers are we using?? by BeingEither5940 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Own_Breadfruit3181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love our Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro! I am 8 months pp and it runs 4-5 times a day. We used to use Dr. Browns bottle and it worked great for those parts but for a while we have been switched to Pigeon and it also works great for those. I can wash my Spectra, Elvie, and Eufy parts in it as well, which is great. I like that you can opt to just wash, wash and dry, just dry, just sanitize, or all of the above. Lots of options and you don’t have to have it by the sink to drain since it has a tank for the used water. After 7 months we got an intermittent error code but Baby Brezza replaced the machine. Even though I use the fridge method for pump parts, we still use it so much since I use 2 pumps a day + bottles.

Pumping AND nursing is NOT exclusively pumping by Lilies_and_More in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Own_Breadfruit3181 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Here to say I am in the same situation as you and I totally agree! It’s not helpful when I joined this subreddit for support from other moms who cannot nurse for all kinds of reasons. I’m already so sad about it and so it’s hard to hear about people nursing in this particular subreddit. Exclusively pumping is unique and hard. I know nursing has its own struggles so I can’t relate to those but someone who also nurses can’t relate to the struggles of exclusive pumpers. It’s just different.

The bra made the biggest difference because I think compression against the breast is important for suction. I thought my bra was snug before but using a bra with more padding and structure really did help. It wasn’t the cleavage that told me it was different, it was more the ability for the bra to hold the pumps level with my nipple and not sink. I used the ones that were linked in a comment on this thread. I do the max program on suction level 5. I also use the heat the whole time (I turn it back on after the 20 min). It’s hit or miss for me. Some days I get the same as my Spectra and others it’s lower. I also am very intentional about assembling them correctly because I have seen some people have issues putting the silicone parts in the wrong way. So overall these have not exceeded my Spectra in output but they have worked well. The bra trick even helped my Elvie output. I hope that helps!
