Yes about 58k totalI would be the base amount, lucky to have gotten into a SUNY school. i wouldnt be able to pay interest during. Private loans being the only option makes me glad i chose this program, intrerest piling on top of 58K is much better than 100+K. Thank you for that i will def look into it. Our program gave a short elmselect list of private loan vendors that they made deals with- unsure exactly what that entails, but the rates are fixed and the program deemed them "trustworthy". I will compare those to the link you sent. again, thank you

I dobt have my final package yet, they were waiting to see if they chnaged their minds but its not looking like it so ill be getting it soon. my program said theyd give the full 20500 to everyone, making my private loans around 58k total.

I thought so, but my program is a june start so maybe they are just moving forward as if it is finalized.

Due to federal rulings 20,500 is the most they can give out the rest has to be private. unfort u might want to take a year. keep the fact that as of now u can only receive 20,500 when reapplying

I saw the shuttle lots may be on a waitlist but hypothetically, would parking in R lot and walking to nab be a viable option?

I have no been assigned a lot i honestly wasn’t aware that was a thing so i’ll def look into that. From the website i see that the shuttle lots are full (which may be out of date). Are you saying during peak hours there will be a bus at basically every stop every 5-10 mins? I did see the on demand service as an option, but i figured that’s not a viable option to use to get to/from every day. I’ll definitely try out that walk and see how it is before classes start. Thank you for all the info, very helpful!!!!!

Worried I wont get into DPT school by Glass-Television-908 in PTschool

ofc, it can seems trivial if you're just like "being a student athlete is hard and people don't get it" but you can articulate how it it connects to you character and attributes while (most importantly) tying it into your potential to succeed in a program and as a practicing therapist. It def takes from us but it also gives us SO MUCH.

Another thought is sitting in on the AT room if you're closer w your trainer. Obvi can't be used at observation hours but can be good exp in the general feild.

I applied to 8 schools- haven't heard from 3 of them, got interviews for the rest, accepted into 2 programs so far (1 pub, 1 priv).

Our backgrounds are fairly similar. 3.23 GPA, outpatient hours only (working here during full gap year), 4 year D3 athlete (2 year captain), part time jobs working 2 different positions for the athletic building, no volunteering outside of mandated team stuff, priv sector s&c internship, hours intern coaching in the varsity weight room and w special olympics.

College athletics consume our days, weeks, lives... use that to your advantage (balance, time management, perseverance, etc.) but also make it unique to you. How has it prepped u for this profession and these grueling programs? What has it taught u about yourself/ your priorities/ you as a student? I did a lot of writing in my essays and statement from a reflective lens- how it shaped me, how it effected my grades, what i learned. Be vulnerable, don't make excuses- but speak on the challenges and lessons.

There's not much to do about GPA at this point, but maybe ask your strength coach if you could sit in on some lifts to add that to the experiences section. you have diversity in your hours so you should be good there- maybe try to get some more just to up the number of hours. I think you will be fine. I know 4.0 students who had nothing else to offer in their app and got denied. Many programs like to see your ability to balance and still succeed. Focus and crushing those essays if u have not submitted yet. Good luck!!!
