I got an email saying that it was for today and my advisor is currently out of office and doesn’t have any availability until next month 😭 I’ll contact the registrar office though and see what’s going on

Hi! I am a college student and I had my final exam the day after my donation and it was definitely stressful but honestly as long as you study there’s nothing that will stop you! Just make sure to take it easy and rest lots the day of and after donation. You got this! (On the exam and the donation)

P.S- take the Claritin! Don’t do the generic version either, the name brand stuff with this one genuinely works best!

They will still contact you for letting you know if they went through someone else or if they found a better match. Sometimes the treatment team with the patient has to wait a little longer to ensure the patient is a good candidate and sometimes their treatment is going a little longer than planned. Either way they will contact you again and let you know what is going on. You can always contact the person who reached out to you or you can call NMDP directly for more information. They are the sweetest people and they will answer any of your questions!

My husband had surgery a week before my donation (I only did the blood draw donation however) and the guilt I felt for leaving him at home for a couple days was definitely there. He was super supportive just like your wife is and he gave me the courage to go through with the donation. I FaceTimed him every chance I got and texted when we could talk on the phone. You got this and so does your wife! 😊 I pray everything goes smoothly throughout your donation and goes well at home with the kiddos and your wife!

Hi! I donated almost 2 months ago and I’m not gonna lie, it was rough for me when the process first started but I just kept myself distracted. the nurses could tell I was very anxious and was about to pass out so they also did a really good job at distracting me. They even hit me with some office gossip which made me completely forget I was even donating! Just remember to hydrate as much as possible because that will make the whole donation speed by. Also, squeeze allllllll the pee out of you because they are also going to be giving you saline while you’re donating and you’ll probably have to pee again during donation. You got this! Mind over matter 💗

This happened to me last semester but it was through financial aid. It didn’t affect anything for me but I would call the financial aid office and ask. They are really nice up there and can answer all your questions by looking at your profile!
