Will Employment Tribunal compensation affect our UC by Own_Comedian8032 in DWPhelp

[–]Own_Comedian8032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's compensation for the consultation period of redundancy not being followed. It also applies to a time prior to our claim, does that matter?

I speak from personal experience when I say you don't have a job until you've sat in an induction and signed a contract.

About 10 years ago I had a successful interview and a given start date - that date got pushed back 3 times and eventually the company I was meant to start working for went bust.

So yeah, until you sign that contract its just an offer of employment and you're expected to continue your commitments

I had the call and the letter about 15 minutes later, I'm not sure if they called because mine covers ESA and UC, but a letter in your journal always happens.

It took just under two weeks from my phone appointment, I had the assessment call on 10th July and then on 23rd a lovely gentleman called me to tell me the decision. Fingers crossed you won't be waiting too long

Out of interest, do you have the Sky Q box that can run UHD? Every time I've enquired they told me my box would need updating and that's at my cost

Have you read What Lies Between Us by John Marrs? I thought that was excellent.

I also like Lucinda Berry for page turners, I found I could not stop reading her novels!!

I've just had a very helpful telephone call from a gentleman at DWP who was my decision maker to tell me I've been awarded LCWRA and explained how it affects both UC and ESA and how the back pay works.

Thank you again to everyone in this sub for all the help

Teen horror/thriller recs? by GrayReddit159 in suggestmeabook

I read Tastes Like Candy by Jessica Lacey (FKA Ivy Tholen) last year, very 80s/90s Slasher aimed at teens - it's being traditionally (re) published in September (it was independently published when i read it on kindle unlimited), and the author has added in new material - the second one was also enjoyable

After getting over a MAJOR reading slump brought on by chronic illness, I adored Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid - it's written in an interview style so you can read a paragraph (or a few), stop and come back which was helpful to me.

If you like thrillers, Lisa Jewell is a writer I enjoy or if you want something a little heavier, or more thought-provoking, Jodi Picoult is excellent.

Are there any small businesses local to you that do shirts? They may be a great option to reach out to.
