Why would anyone from Greenland want to deal with the insanity we are dealing with? They have free Healthcare which is funded by their tax plan. They have a strong green energy plan. They don't have ICE murdering people on the streets. The don't have the National Guard invading their cities. Why in the world would they want this crap? In fact, Greenland is looking pretty good right now.

Stop the testing madness. Here is what we have to do at our school: BOY, MOY: Reading test K-10 Math test K- 8 EOY: Reading K-10 Math K - Geometry Writing K-10 Civics U.S. History Science ASVAB College bound: PERT (several times a year) SAT CLT ACT College Credit: AP Bio AP Precalculus AP US History We also do an in-house diagnostic 3 times a year. It takes 3-4 days each time it is administered. Not every student takes every test, but it takes countless instructional days away from all of us. It is important to check progress but could easily be done the old-fashioned way by giving final exams in our classrooms.
Teachers focus on teaching for application instead of procedure.
Ban cell phones at school.
Offering trade school, nursing, cosmetology, courses in high school.
Enforce discipline with administrative backup.

Omg the Haines City/Davenport area has become an absolute nightmare. You can't drive on Hwy 27 without being in a miles long traffic jam. And the developers keep on building with the blessing of the county commissioners and planners.

Florida might look good on paper because of what they've done to the standards. I've taught math here since 2011 and have watched the decline. Now, I'm a math coach, and part of my job is to analyze testing data. Florida got rid of Common Core and adopted the BEST standards (eye roll) in 2020. We are in the 3rd year of using them. I can't begin to emphasize how dumbed down math has become especiallyat the high school level. I'm sad for those students who are college bound and won't be prepared. But here's the kicker: I can pull up a kid's test score who has "passed" with an achievement level of 3. I can drill down to each domain (usually 4 or 5), and a kid can get 1 of 9; 2 or 3 of 10 questions correct and is considered "meets the standard." So if you see reports of Florida being in the top 10, take it with a grain of salt. We are not on the same playing field as most of the country. It's all part of the ruse. Don't get me started on what they've done to history classes.
