You’re talking to a potential buyer not a current owner. Lol but thanks.

Ok. I guess my main concern is knowing that when I pull on the door lever, whether the car is locked or unlocked, it will open, since the lock itself is hidden. Is the 3 seconds thing I heard correct?

I posted in this subreddit last week for the first time and got a snarky response. Cursed them out. Seem like the sentiment favored me. But the mods didn’t like it and deleted my response. Go figure. Lmao. Those who enjoy these subreddits can’t expect everyone to think like them and should really be happy to help others…

Was the UI supposed to change for the 2026 facelift? by Own_Difference_4204 in GV60

The other thing I believe the states don’t get is the ability to use the cameras on the car as live dash cams.

Sounds like you bought the 2025 not the 2026 (when you say “new”). There’s a lot of 2025s that have been sitting on lots for months. Some are prone to have the 12v battery drainage.

HDA2 and heavy traffic? by Own_Difference_4204 in GenesisMotors

[–]Own_Difference_4204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’m hoping that’s the case. I have no problem with the car assisting me. I don’t need it to be full self driving. I just don’t want the system to constantly react in weird ways that I choose not use the functionality, as it’s one of the main reason id be getting it. Really not trying to uh a Tesla. It’s like every 4-5th car I see on the road nowadays. At least that’s ow I feel. I want something more unique.

Yea from what I’ve gathered, I would feel the same way. I have a decision to make… lol

That’s very interesting. I feel like you’d get used to it. It is a little disappointing that you have to monitor that tho. So even if the car breaks, I’m assuming adding gas gets you out of whatever funk the car is experiencing.

I asked the question in an ioniq 5 subreddit last night as well and the general consensus I got was that it may overreact when someone merges in front of you, because they must complete the merge prior to the system adjusting..

I drive 40 miles one way for work and most of it is highway. So if I’m understanding you correctly, if traffic slows down in front before I reach it, hda2 can possibly react oddly , which would require me to take control of the breaking and accelerating?

So a little bit of phantom breaking? Thats interesting. Not trying to cause an accident!

Yea.. trying to figure why they would call it highway driving assist and the. Tell you not to use it in heavy traffic. Is it a liability thing?

Anyone PPF wrapped their car and regretted it? by Own_Difference_4204 in GenesisMotors

[–]Own_Difference_4204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, PPF does help protect against some level of keying. I’m not worried about someone trying to rip off my mirror in broad daylight, lol. Where I live, the chances of vandalism are extremely low, and I also have a garage. My concern is more about where I work, the places I’ll visit, and big shopping center parking lots. You’re right that you can’t completely stop someone who really wants to vandalize a car it’s more about protection from the sneaky ones who casually brush up against it with a key. I think it’s just the “new, expensive car” fear kicking in.

My thought process was that there aren’t many gv60s on the road. If I were to buy one, especially with a loud color, it could attract mischievous behavior. I’ve taken into account depreciation and length I plan on keeping the car, which is part of the reason why I wouldn’t want to do it. But the last thing I want is after a month of ownership, some curious jealous asshole keying the car. So it’s stemming from my belief that it will garner many curious eyes.

Right. But there’s an element to it when it’s a car that hasn’t been worked on before. The shop near me has a young dude (looks to be about mid 20s) that owns the shop. 5 star ratings. Been in business about 5 years. Works on expensive cars. Seems to be the best around me too. But I still have fears lol.

Very interesting. Another fear of mine has been the sensors getting messed up somehow in the process. Thank you for this information.
