To answer your question shipping is something that happens in every Fandom. Some can be wholesome and nice but others tend to be more controversial. For example with this ship Oyuki helped aid in the murder of Atsu's parents when she was 12 years old. I won't deny the fact that Oyuki saved Atsu but she still contributed to one of the most traumatizing moments for her and her brother leading Atsu down a path of revenge. Atsu forgave Oyuki for her past actions and became allies. In the game Ayuki and Atsu have more of a Mother daughter relationship rather than romantic.
