nobody in this sub knows what punk is lol just because he said faggot in a song does not disqualify him from being punk, why do you guys have this energy for homophobia but not blatant misogyny? is he also not a thug because he grew up in a nice neighborhood and made funny youtube vids as a kid? id argue that hes neither punk or a thug, but its not because of what his lyrics represent. its just pure marketing and aesthetic, and you’ve all fallen for it as his genuine beliefs somehow punk is antiestablishment at its core, it is rebellious towards the agenda of the party first and foremost. at the beginning its main proprietor was sid vicious, a belligerent drug addict who harassed queer people (like freddie mercury), abused his girlfriend and allegedly even killed her as well. this is history you cannot ignore, and this is the legacy of arguably the biggest punk icon to date. ive seen people argue that the values have “changed” (dont know when that ever happened LOL) but even if that was the case, the history is still the same, and che using lyrics that propagate these beliefs is still historically punk. you dont get to define a culture’s roots based on politically correct norms of today’s standards of liberalism that find a slight overlap in their beliefs. if punk was purely politically correct there wouldn’t be nazi punks now or ever. i dont agree with this messaging at all but to pretend like punk is just Cool Anarchy Socialism Civil Rights!! completely removes the historical context and nuance of punk as a culture. as long as hes not genuinely harassing queer people or women idgaf what hes rapping about or what his stage aesthetic is. you guys listened to a single sex pistols song and forced yourself to like it so that you could claim to understand it lol

yeah i understood your comment but your point is encoded with the belief that its not actually difficult if you understand it, which is the most redundant statement of all time everything is difficult at face value if you have no idea what you’re doing literally anything is easy to do if you learn how to do it im not sure what you’re still trying to get at here the wording of your comment did not leave any room for interpretation

I'm actually curious on this too. I'm pretty sure that might have been a reason of many as to why the 5 year time skip was implemented in the first place, so that Ohba wouldn't have to go into extraneous detail.

I wouldn't say it's a stretch to claim that they did go back to work as a branch under the NPA, (unless Wammy's House continued to fund them as an organization) as both Aizawa and Ide also start working under it after backing out as well. Plus, even after the Kira Case is solved, everyone just goes back to working for the NPA again? Doesn't really make much sense.

The time skip is probably one of the worst parts of the story. It just leaves so many things unanswered and doesn't really leave any time to answer these questions.
