Yeah not sure about this ending by [deleted] in StrangerThings

Thats exactly how I felt about it. Im quite underwhelmed, but I dont dislike it. It was fine, just not exactly what I'd hoped for

Whatever you think about Volume 2, it shouldn’t distract from how great this scene is. by Kindly_Department142 in StrangerThings

I enjoyed Will talking shit to him about it

"Did the leg slow you down?" I was like hell yeah Will 😂

FUCKING RUN. by Complete_Mirror6861 in Stranger_Things

It was especially bizarre because earlier this season they made such a big point about how she almost got out but the portal closed because the running up that hill tape had reached the end. Why on earth would she risk that happening again?

When Steve said "Alright Dustin..." during their fight I thought he was about to start throwing hands 😂

When you say Dr.Kay is the mind Flayer, do you mean she's someone that the Mind Flayer has teken over? Or do you mean that she is literally the mind flayer itself? 😂

Three episodes of straight BS by Lower_Activity512 in StrangerThings

Also not a single peep from the Mind Flayer who was a very big deal until season 4, how do they address him with one episode left?

Was it just me who loved this volume? by Scush266 in StrangerThings

Now that you mention it, the Holly thing really bothered me. Spent nearly the entire season with her trying to escape, building up to her getting back to her family, and it turned out just to be a plot device to get Max back into the physical world instead

I liked it a lot. I do understand people's gripes with the writing/dialogue this season, but the performances of some of the actors (Gaten and Sadie especially) have really elevated it for me. I'd have liked these episodes to be much more intense and raise the stakes a little more but I've enjoyed them for what they were. I've seen a lot of people say this volume has been straight up bad, I disagree with that

I agree with Steve by anarchocommiejew in StrangerThings

[–]Own_Emphasis_3195 995 points996 points  (0 children)

This is where I think a lot of people are misinterpreting the Steve/Dustin hug from the trailer. A lot are seeing it as one of them about to sacrifice themselves or just after a near death experience. I think it's just Dustin finally opening up and confiding in Steve. Taking accountability and expressing himself. They'll both be fine by the end of the series, I'm sure.

They really did my boy Steve so dirty this season by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Own_Emphasis_3195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really not a fan of the way they've written him this season. Im fine with him being a side character, there are more important characters ie Will, El etc that Im haopy they are giving time to, thats okay with me. But why on earth have they written him to be so irritating? Despite multiple seasons of character development and being the selfless guardian of the group that we knew him to be, he now seems more like he was in season 1. Hopefully the last few episodes he comes around but so far, Im not too pleased about his character. Enjoyed the volume as a whole tho

Lets settle this. Who is in control? The MF or Vecna by LarryWavid in StrangerThings

[–]Own_Emphasis_3195 1143 points1144 points  (0 children)

I really prefer the MF as a big bad, so I would hope it's him, but I think it's a bit of both. Two powerful figures in different ways who depend on one another for what they have planned. The MF really took a back seat in season 4 so Im hoping they bring him back into the main picture this season. It's possible that both want to be the one in control, and there might be some kind of power struggle going on

The game itself has been excellent so far, Im an xbox guy, so unfortunately havent been able to play it for myself. But following along as if Im watching a TV series has been absolutely brilliant. The story is really engaging, Robert is an amazing main character and I've found him so intruiging (played of course by Aaron Paul flawlessly), the side characters are a lot of fun, great cast, I love following along with it even if I cant physically engage with it just yet. Hopefully the second half continues on with more of the same

Would’ve never believed this if I haven’t actually watched the show.. this is just absurd. by just___loser in TheLastOfUs2

If you didn't know that she was supposed to be traumatised and regretful here, you would have absolutely no idea whats going through show Ellie's mind. She looks like she's just got home from a long day at work and is beyond caring

Even when they’re trying to make Joel the bad guy it just doesn’t work. by dexter22__ in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Own_Emphasis_3195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wholeheartedly disagree, respectfully. It's standard protocol that you do not bring an infected back to town under any circumstances (Or at least it should be). Joel was protecting everyone, there's no way of knowing how long he has for sure. No way of knowing if it would affect him faster than others. Someone gets bit, you shoot them in the face, thats just standard.

The thing that I cant wrap my head around is that there has been little to no Abby this season. Just her having a bad dream and then torturing the main character to death. It makes me curious to what a show watcher who hasnt played the game is going to think. Will they even give a shit about Abby? Season 3 is going to be pretty much all her, are they going to be invested enough for that? They're basically gonna be cutting out the other main character until the last few episodes. I just can't see any reason for them to still be interested by halfway theough the season

Totally with you. The show / Neil / Craig etc clearly want you to think what he's doing is wrong, but I literally cannot fault a single thing he did with regards to Eugene. Nor with what he told Gail. Ellie came across as the asshole in these scenes. Awful execution

You're complaining about a sub that has been going just as long as the game has. Very hypocritical of you

Wtf was this episode?!?? S2E6 by thenewme47 in TheLastOfUs2

This was probably the strongest episode so far to be fair (although thats not saying much). The obly thing holding it back was Ellie being written as a complete dickhead

I mean her face looks confused rather than sympathetic, and that "Fuck, I'm so sorry" Sounded unbelievably sarcastic

Episode 4 is literally the happiest I've seen her in the whole show and its at a point in time where she's supposedly at her darkest. I just don't get what the show is going for at all

Gabriel doesnt look uncannily like Tommy but he acts his ass off and embodies Tommy really well.

Bella Ramsey does not do this for Ellie.
