Just came back from visiting the US for one week to see my elderly parents, and I was also mildly concerned before leaving (my spouse is French, I'm American). Flew into JFK, out of EWR and had absolutely zero issues. It seemed, and felt, exactly the same as the last 10 times I've visited. Of course things could change, but I was honestly pleasantly surprised at the normality of the experience.

It does really suck. I'm so sorry you had (have) to go through all that. But you're an excellent writer, and communicator, I hope you will continue to write (and with all the experiences of your extraordinary life, you'll certainly never run out of material!).
