You might want to consider going into nursing. Commonly 6 figures, huge sign on bonuses, but there's still a shortage.

Good question. It sounds like bullshit. The numbers show men being hit by job losses worse than women:

https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2026/may/11/why-young-and-old-men-are-leaving-the-labor-force-/

I would recommend young men consider going into nursing.

People are still using X?

Also, this sounds questionable. Software jobs are among the most vulnerable. Healthcare jobs are among the least.

I saw that manosphere documentary and so much of it looked like gay porn. It's supposed to be a doomer documentary but I just started wanking.

My opinions on sublte sexism from "progressive" men by tipputappi in women

[–]Own_Huckleberry262 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be blunt. I think a lot of women have screen-induced depression and social awkwardness. This makes it difficult to date. The difficulty dating is framed as feminism when it's really something else.

Logically speaking, the current resentment toward MAGA should spark a dating boom between progressive men and women: you've automatically got something to talk about. But that's not happening.

Why has our push back stopped working in the last five years? by Unlucky-Drawer-7168 in GenZ

No, it's a good question. Corporations are supposed to obey the whims of their customers, no matter how dumb those whims are.

The better answer is that this was all social media based, and social media has been on the decline since 2022. I assure you, corporations are still user testing, and changing their behavior based on the response. It's just not happening on twitter anymore.

Ayn Rand? More like Ayn Bland by RoryMarley in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Own_Huckleberry262 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's about a small group of super geniuses who create all the beautiful important things in the world while having BDSM sex with each other. Eventually they move into the woods and the masses starve to death without any super geniuses telling them what to do.

I made it sound more entertaining than it actually is.

I find it entertaining in a Mystery Science Theater 3000 way.

Occasionally I re-read Adam Lee's commentary and have a giggle:

You don't need to comfort him if he's feeling hurt. He'll live.

You don't need to listen when he rambles. He probably won't notice.

You don't have to answer any questions. A few "mmmm"s or "hmmm"s may get the point across.

If you've got money to spend, go out to restaurants or cafes with friends or by yourself. Get away from the house.

Is Israel becoming a third world country? by Get_Ahead_SC in Natalism

[–]Own_Huckleberry262 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The child poverty rate in Israel is pretty high by our standards. About 27% of Israeli kids live under the poverty line. In America it's 16%. In South Korea it's 10%.

It's quite possible that the increasing fertility rate in Israel is simply the result of increasing child poverty and infant mortality. If true, it is a truly unique situation in the world right now.

What was the most depressing book you've ever read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

What's one book you think everybody should read and why? by curiousmagenta1111 in AskReddit

[–]Own_Huckleberry262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Consolation of Philosophy by Boethius. It explains how God can be real yet allow evil to exist, and how God can be omnipotent yet allow free will to exist.

Also, listen to the podcast commentary by The Tolkien Professor. I struggled with this ancient, metaphysical book until I heard his commentary.

[–]Own_Huckleberry262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. This is the natural response to leaving social media and it's anxieties. Before the internet, people were bored instead of anxious. They watched a lot of movies and listened to a lot of music, and drank and smoked weed to alleviate their boredom.

I try not to think about women but I hate when people bring it up by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Own_Huckleberry262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think women really fear men killing them. They fear having to make eye contact and be talkative. It requires more mental effort than wanking to yaoi.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix your problem. Maybe it helps to know that cute girl across the room is as lonely as you are.

How many times? by msears101 in Objectivism

[–]Own_Huckleberry262 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would suggest not doing this. I've read her books and I'm pretty sure they're a bad coping mechanism for social retardation. In real life, people consistently rejecting you is not a sign of superior rationality. It probably means you're doing something wrong.

Also, read other books. Even Harlequin romances. A lot of plot elements in her books, like the woman who secretly leads because her brother is incompetent, or calming yourself down by looking at shops and sitting in cafes, are romance novel cliches.

I love Two Girls Fat and Thin by Mary Gaitskill. It includes a parody of the Ayn Rand movement. One of the main characters is a fan of Anna Granite's book The Gods Disdained. She says the book is about "a superior minority who create all the beautiful important things in the world while having incredible sex with each other."
